Spinners: processing question/help

Yesterday I was looking at Spin Off and got a wild hair in my backside and decided to get working on my fleece. So I trekked upstairs and started in on washing a huge chunk of it. I've gotten it pretty clean and am just down to removing the smaller VM (only took 3 washes! 2 technically as it's just soaking right now to un-yellow a few tips). How do I go about doing that? I watched the youtube video from paradisefibers on combing but I don't have any combs. I was going to go to All A Dollar and get some dog brushes to card with. Can I do the same for combing and just grab some dog combs? Do I need to comb or can I just go straight to carding? The video said you don't want to do that but I admit that the lazy and impatient person in me wants to skip combing.

Lets put it this way. I'm currently spinning long-draw in the grease, because I'm too lazy to do any prep at all. (You could do this, y'know?)
The yarn looks fine. I say just card it.

Pooey. I started combing it and I may get lazy and stop. I'm not sure how it cleans it anymore than it already is. It's taking forever though. This is still coated in grease but not too much. My hands feel like they do after I lanolize covers (so not too thick).
