Haha, get this:

I just spoke with my doula who was supposed to attend another client's scheduled induction today (the mama has GD), but apparently, she's been put "on hold" by the hospital because they're overflowing with inductions this week. The client was actually scheduled to start cervidil Sunday, but it was pushed back to Monday, and then today, she was told "we'll call you when it's your turn...you're third on the list".

Haha this just cracks me up because this mama and I are birthing at the same hospital and despite the fact that my doctor is pressuring me to get induced, they might not even be able to schedule me specifically because all these other women are flooding the L&D ward, either being induced due to GD or asking to be induced because of the insanely hot weather

pfff gotta love bureaucracy.

That's good news for you! Hopefully you'll have plenty of time to go into labour on your own now, without the outside pressure. Silly hospital.

Just goes to show that even though they are pressuring you to be induced, it is not for any "real" or "medically necessary" reason.
If it were so dangerous for you to stay pregnant would they really be postponing it for days?

HAM-- I think you should try to stay pg until your baby/body decides it's time.

Ooh I have a better idea... HAM I think you should try and stay pg until Bastille Day! Seriously though, I would call and schedule a prenatal massage for yourself on Friday or Saturday this week... you're guarenteed to have to call and cancel. And if you don't, hey - at least you get a massage!

Amen to all of the above!
Schedule that massage!

Oh, that's priceless!! It's bloody fantastic news for you, and so ironic and delicious. Let them fret and insist that you must be induced and then sheepishly put it off.... I'm betting that it's not just that there are may women on the induction list, but there are many doctors on vacation....
