Because I'm up again, figured I'd get the next daily thread started.

I'm supposed to go see the mw today, but after mild but consistent contractions all night long, I think I'll just wait and see today. I couldn't sleep through them but I could rest, so I'm feeling pretty good. When I'm upright and moving around, things seem to be kicking in a lot more. Not sure if I want that happen yet or not since dh hasn't had much sleep yet. Well, off to get some breakfast and maybe go catch the sunrise or something.

Oooh, I hope this is it for you! Sending easy labor vibes!!!

Watching the sunrise, too, with a house full of sleeping people & animals. Ahhhhh. I'm up with ctx, but nothing that's going to produce a baby today, I don't think.

I'm going on a lunch date with my DH today without kids. We're going to our favorite Indian restaurant for lunch. They have a good buffet. Mmmm, I'm already salivating! Hmmm, do you think they'd cut a pregnant woman some slack & open up early for me here at 5:50am?

Hi Early Birds,
I'm up, too - didn't sleep much last night due to achy muscles and sore hips. I can't seem to find rhyme or reason to when they hurt more than other nights. Oh well. I can nap later. It is nice to be up before everyone else and be in the quiet.

xixstar - I hope this is something for you. If it is, your babe will share a birthday with someone I'm close to

Today is my EDD!

I dreamt last night which contrary to so many pregnant women, I have done very little of throughout this pregnancy. It was seemingly totally unrelated to baby, but was fun in that I got to meet one of my (professionally) most admired people.

My BH have really slowed down the last week or so. Not sure what that means. I haven't had any other signs of anything, so I'm trying to be patient. I'm having coffee with an old friend this afternoon and then am off to dinner/dessert with DH. We were going to go for Italian, but Spark your mention of Indian sounds fantastic.

My family sent me an amazing birth necklace. It was something they had talked about but now that it is here, I'm a little overwhelmed. Each bead has a particular healing quality to it. Aside from being incredibly symbolic, it's just beautiful. I can't wait to wear it both at my birth and afterward. I also spent some time last week having some old photos of my mom and I printed up and framed. For now, I hung them up so I can see them during my birthing time.

Anyone else have plans to revisit some memories as things get rolling? I thought about digging out our wedding video.

Have a good day, mamas!

Ah, 3:30am and the excitement is already starting around here, I just put out a fire in the toaster oven (in which I was making some toast to go with my egg, you know, 3:30am snack)...

I am 41 weeks today. I have a midwife appt tomorrow, my mind has been racing with everything I want to say about why I will not consent to induction at 42 weeks. I decided I need to make myself some talking points so I can sound like the intelligent, articulate woman I am and not like a blubbering idiot.

It has been so hot here lately, about 110 yesterday and the air quality is really bad due to fires in surrounding areas. I hope maybe there was a breeze overnight that cleared some of the junk out of the air, it was sooooo bad yesterday.

Nothing much new on the "labor" front. I was having more BH yesterday. Normally I only have them when I am walking or being pretty active but yesterday I was having them just hanging around so maybe that is a good thing. I try not to get myself excited.

Hi mamas! : Sounds like we will have some babies around here soon!

Looks like it will be a nice day here today. I am going to try to get out for my daily walk with DD, then I see the midwife at 12. Have been having more consistent BH/ cramping/ lower back stuff today, but not sure if it's anything!

Hope everyone has a great day!

42 weeks today. Last night we went walking in a park, and as I was a passing by, an older woman looked at my belly and shrieked in disgust, "Oh my God!" I didn't know pregnant women were that repulsive.

You are not repulsive! People can be so insensitive. I had an old man at the post office give me a lecture about "don't wait too long" last week. It was ridiculous, he just kept talking and finally I got so frustrated with him I said "I'm not talking to you about this any more" I walked away and wouldn't you believe that guy was still talking!

I hope you have your baby soon. You are doing the right thing by letting him/her come when they are ready. I know it's hard.

Yamilee--I am convinced that people think pg women are deaf. They just lose their filters and their minds. I think we all need a big sign that says "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

No change here, although I am excited to hear about all of the babies who may be on their way!

Had my mw appt yesterday. Babe is not engaged and is in an oblique position, so I am off to spinning babies, again.

I did crack up my mw yesterday. She asked if she could check me. I said no. Later she said I should start EPO vaginally at 40 weeks, to which I made a squeamish face. She said "You don't like anything up in there do you?"

I said, "Well, I like SOME things in there--that's how I got into this position." She isn't terribly jokey so it was fun to get a laugh out of her!

It rained a little here yesterday afternoon, so I was able to weed one of my garden beds! Hurray for being outside and not sweltering AND getting something done! I am hoping it stays overcast for a little while yet this morning and I can do the other side of the house too.

People are stupid. I am sure you are beautiful!

I am 41 weeks today and have NO signs of labor- in fact, I think I have been moving in the opposite over the past 24 hours:

I have had no contractions (not even BH), no loose stools (in fact I am constipated for the first time since I started taking probiotics), other than the normal pains in my butt and legs, I feel good, and I have not been nesting at all.

So about the constipation- any suggestions? I really have no idea why I am experiencing this right now. I have been on probiotics for months (they really help me usually in that department), have not changed my diet or activity level, eat lots of fruits and veggies. It makes no sense and is very annoying. Also, I am starting to worry that it will affect labor??

Any advice would be welcomed. I don't have an apt. with my MW until Sunday and would rather not have to call her about constipation if I can avoid it.

Oh, and I REALLY hate prunes, so prune juice is out unless I get really desperate. Does anyone know if another juice would work as well? I am not much of a juice drinker, but I would be willing in this case...

I have heard that pear juice works.
Also I saw someone else mention this in another thread and it looks good:

Thanks everyone.

Aprilsfools, for the constipation, have you tried any of these fruits: watermelon, mangoes, oranges? That usually works in my house.

40w+1

I had a terrible dream last night that I went for an appointment at the mw and she was telling me I need to prepare for being induced because I am "overdue". She wanted to put this weird thing in my belly button and in my back, like an epidural tube.

I was trying to explain why I didn't want to be induced and the words wouldn't come out.

I am so scared of induction.
Last birth I was this way about c-sec-- like almost to the point of phobia.
This time I am more scared of induction than c-sec.

No one can MAKE me get induced, right?

OMG I can't believe how stupid and mean people can be.
You are beautiful!

Well, I feel less uncomfortable and less pregnant today than I have in weeks, go figure! I actually *slept* last night. Like, for two whole hours between pees! I feel like a billion bucks!

I had my 39w ob/gyn checkup yesterday, which was exactly the same as every other checkup I've had - everything's perfect, thanks for waiting in my waiting room for an hour. Except at the end she casually mentioned that I've tested positive for GBS and so will get an antibiotic IV after my water breaks. : I'm doing my research now to decide if I want to put up the fuss and refuse the antibiotics - honestly the risk of GBS and the risks associated with the antibiotics both seem utterly trivial and like they don't apply to me... so I'm wondering if it's worth fighting them over simply not wanting an IV to hinder my movements. :/

I'm no longer desperate to go into labour. I feel much more comfy, and my DH reminds me that if I can stay pregnant just a little longer, I get to see all kinds of great movies in the theatre! If I make it to Friday, I can see Hellboy II! And if I make it to the 18th, I can see Dark Knight Returns! Beebles gets all wiggly and kicky when we go see big action movies though, so maybe Hellboy will incite labour. lol!

April ~ Miralax is perfectly safe during pregnancy and will relieve your constipation 100%, I promise.

Yamillie ~ OMGoodness mama, I'm so sorry that the witch made that comment. I would have responded with *D@mn that's what old looks like, no THANK YOU!!* or at least tried to. I'm sure you're beautiful mama, and my DH thinks all pregnant women are just beautiful!!!

Oh yeah, nothing new here either. Had a conference call this morning which I don't think they expected me to be on, but I was. It didn't really have anything to do with me at this point, but made me look good for following the rules yk? I think I may go back and lay down now, or shower or something. The kids have alarm clocks and are supposed to say in their rooms until a specific time, but I'm going to try and sneak in a shower anyway.

Oh, birth plan is all done up, even tho we are inducing, I still want things to go the way I'd like them too. I jsut made sure they know, no internal monitors, no AROM (unless cleared with me first and not a decision I'm not involved in) no visitors other than DH, no students, no cutting, etc. etc. a lot of hands off even tho it's a hospi induction. It seemed to work out ok with our 3rd child, so I hope so.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I have been eating a TON of watermelon in the past month, but it has been a while since I have had some mangos (yum), so I will get some of those.

I will also try the pear juice- it sounds much more tasty than prune.

If those don't work, I will try the Miralax.

My DH put in the AC in our bedroom window last night, it was hot and humid here yesterday. It was nice and cool and DS slept in the baby's pack and play in our room as well. Too bad he didn't want to sleep and said "HI" to me for about 4 hours. He has to be as tired as I am.

I'm meeting with the doula in training today - after I work for a few hours this morning. I still have some stragglers on my "to do" list I need to finish up. It takes me so long to do anything lately.

Oh and we have Japenese Beetles now outside. Anyone deal with these? They are little clingy bugs that attach themselves to all our laundry and flowers. They eat the flowers though. And pretty much anything else. I'm afriad to hang out my clothes and diapers....ugh, I'm not a "bug" person. I just can't deal with any more disruptions right now.... I'm way too cranky.

Tomorrow is my exact guess date, but I'm feeling promising things today. Then again I ate really rich foods last night... same restaurant, same meal, same everything that put me into labor w/ DS1. Here's for hoping, anyway!
