I need some good replies for MIL - Page 2

When my in-laws visited, I always found it a nice "escape" to go to his bedroom for feedings. This way, there was no discussion about it, and I wouldn't have to hear comments. This also gave me some calm time with ds in a time when there is a lot of baby-sharing. Afterward, you could bring a happy, relaxed baby out for mil to hold.

Oops - just realized your mil is already there. Oh, well - ny 2 cents anyway.

I think people want to feed the baby because it *is* a special bonding time that usually is only reserved for mothers. So I sometimes think deep down (even if they don't realize it?) they want that special moment too.

Yes. With my son, my mother begged and begged me to pump. I ended up doing so when he was about 6m, but never again. She hasn't asked with this child.

It definitely is that intimate bonding that mothers and grandmothers are after.

It irks me at times, but I understand it. Though I don't respect it.
