When did you water break? Almost everyone I know had their water break at the very beginning of labor, or it is what started labor. I never went into labor on my own and am curious to how often it happens at the start.

#1 - midnight when I got up to pee, contractions started 45 minutes later.
#2 - 9:30pm, I felt funny, layed down on the couch, grabbed the phone to call my husband and POP! Back to back contractions started IMMEDIATELY.
#3 - 3am. Contractions started 3 hours later.

I am so curious to see if I continue my trend this last time!

Mine were artificially ruptured so that they could put in an internal monitor :

This time I'm praying they don't break until right before birth as I'm GBS+

ds-broke 3 days before labor started
dd-broke as she was being born

ds - artificially ruptured near the end of labor, just before I started pushing

dd - broke before labor started. Contractions started about an hour later.

After strong, regular ctx already started. It was still 14 hours more before DD was born. It was a pop loud enough for even DH to hear and a huge gush!

I guess I have breaky waters.

1st - Water broke & labor started within an hour. Gushed again during pushing.
2nd - Water broke & labor started 48 hours later. Gushed again during pushing.
3rd - Water broke & labor was immediate (she was born 1 hour, 40 mins from water breaking)

#1 AROM after a full day and night of labour and minimal progress. Born 12 hours later.
#2 water broke and contractions started immediately. Born 4 hours later.

DD - I went into labor at 2:15 p.m. and water broke at 11:30 p.m. delivered her at 3:19 p.m. the next day...

DS - Went into labor at 6:45 p.m. Water broke at 8:30 p.m. He was born at 11:29 p.m. Just under 5 hours of labor. (Hope this one is more like this labor than my DD's! LOL)

#1: AROM quite a way into labor. She was engaged, so it never did do more than just trickle.

#2: Broke at 37w5d. I went to the bathroom and before I started going I heard a pop and gush into the toilet. It continued to leak, so we went to the hospital (VBAC, so we "had" to) and never started contractions. Had Pitocin and later they went in and did an AROM because apparently it was a small leak? I have no idea, honestly, I just know a lot more gushed out after that.

#3: I was having intense contractions on top of each other with lots of pressure. Went into the hospital, wasn't progressing as fast as I had hoped. Agreed to AROM, which got things going really fast and furious.

W/ my first it broke at 11pm, very faint ctx by noon the next day, followed by hellish induction.

This time around no baby or water yet, but ctx have been 6-10 apart this evening and pretty strong!

Ds1, AROM while I was pushing so she could feel if I was making progress, up until then she could only feel the bag, and it helped him engage. Ds2, AROM when I was at 9cm. Ds3 broke while I was in transition, already in the birthing pool.

Mine were artificially ruptured- labor had started around 16 hours earlier and I was at 6cm at the time. Definitely not at the start!!

Baby #1 - Dr. broke water to "speed things up" even though I was already in transition. (I didn't know any better)

Babies #2 and #3 - Water broke late in labor, right before urge to push.

Baby #4 - Water broke at home when baby kicked, before contractions started.

Hoping water breaks late in labor with #5!

#1 - AROM as an induction method (already 6 cm dilated) because we were evacuating for a hurricane

My water broke at 9:00pm the night I was to be induced on it's own (at the hospital). 18 hours later I wasn't dilated, effaced or contracting. I was started on pitocin, got an infection and the rest went downhill.

#1 was a homebirth. DD was in an awkward position following an external version a few weeks before, so my MW broke my waters following a few hours at 7 cm.
