Binding question

Just curious, thought this would be the best place to ask.

I'm planning on binding a famiily history that my father wrote as a gift for him for Christmas. I'd like for it to be hardcover, not like the thesis softcover bindings, and I'll only need one copy, 5 at most.

Anyone have any luck with anyone in the past?

I would suggest a self-publishing on-demand site like Lulu -

I've used them. The only problem I had was that when they printed my photos they didn't stay true to the tonal scale which as a photographer is very important to me. However, everything else was good.
