You know you're hormonal when you cry over a message board.

I post an another site, it's an etiquette forum. I made a post saying I committed a major faux pas. I basically cursed out a cable company when they tried to scam us then called me stupid.

A moderator told me I was looking for validation for being rude and my post was pretty much pointless
One of the things the ladies on there get after me the most for is for being a doormat. I tend to just walked over instead of rocking the boat. This time I actually fought back, and I did it the wrong way and admitted it. Well the moderator apparently feels like I was "proud" of being rude. So not the truth. So now I am near tears and I feel like I don't want to post there anymore. And to make matters worse, the moderator posted this on my thread, not privately.

You know your hormones are raging when you cry over a message board.

Wow. Her posting it in the thread, not in a pm, is SO wrong.
s mama, that just not fair.

I know!!! If she had said it in PM I probably wouldn't be so upset, but she did it publicly. That really hurt. And if it was one of the moderators I post with frequently, it wouldn't have been such a slap, but this one I haven't seen. I guess she didn't do the research to see that all of my posts are me being walked over. She actually grouped me with another poster who tried to justify KICKING someone in the back of the head out of his chair!!!!!

I think I know what board you're talking about.

They suck.

They really do. It seems all fun and games - and then they turn nasty when you have a different view than they do.

(I'm not a current poster - I've been banned just a few times
Right now I lurk)

One time I was banned for explaining that where I live - everyone brings wedding gifts to the reception... Very few people mail them ahead of time. I was told that I was being obtuse and making stuff up...

Just for validation, Kessed...I've only been to receptions where people bring the gifts. I've never heard of folks mailing them ahead of time. Who does that?

I'm so sorry, blessedonce. You know, I think some people try to control others and one way they do it is through belittling (sp?) and making themselves seem on a higher horse....ya know? Let it roll off your back though, and if you like some folks on that board, keep going back....if you don't have much of a connection...call it quits. Hugs.

Yeah. I have never heard of mailing them before hand, unless you will not be going to the wedding.

They are a set of women who can't control what the people around them do - so they are bitter control freaks on that board. Seriously - someone asks a simple question and they lay the smack down.

I've only been to receptions where people bring the gifts where them. Sounds weird to mail them if you can actually make the reception. If you can't make the wedding and feel the need to send a gift, you mail it.

Does the site you got banned from start with an E and end with an H?

I just went back and took a peek against my better judgement....yeah...she deleted my post it seems.

For the credit, there are some VERY kind ladies there, there is one I talk to via email now. She saw our hardship and actually sent us a $100 target e-giftcard!!!! I was shocked!!! I never expected anyone to do that. I intend on paying it forward as soon as we can.

But some of them I just steer clear of.

oh man that sucks!!!!! I post there and I did one post of dh inviting company over without asking me first (I didn't know his friend). I was told I was being a martyr and making my dh out to be a tyrant apparently, the board ended up getting locked before I could respond, it got heated VERY quickly.

I am a vax supporter, but mainly because I have my own ideals, but I never force them onto someone else. I like to listen/read and see why other people don't believe in it, they have very good points just like I have very good points
I don't believe in circing and I've gotten blasted for that plenty of times "It's not gonna look nooooormal!"....I just smile and say "if you say so.", and let it drop.

You're not stupid
Trust me

I don't understand sometimes why things have to get into a very heated debate, I really don't. I mean yes, everybody wants to be right, everybody wants everyone to see things how THEY see them. But if we did, wouldn't the world be awfully boring, and to be quite honest, there wouldn't be much progress. There are some issues I have VERY strong opinions about and think any other opinion is wrong, BUT I also realize people on the other side of the debate feel the same exact way about me. It's fine to have a discussion about it, but it's not okay to point at someone and say "your opinion is WRONG!!!"....if they misconstrue a fact or provide incorrect information, it's fine to gently point that out and hopefully have a current source to back you up so you don't seem to be contradicting them with made up statistics. But it's never okay to tell someone their opinion is wrong, it's just that...an opinion, we all have rights to them. And if we lost those rights....well...there goes freedom of speech and the right to free will.

I like you
Its not often I find people who dont wanna fight.

ty. I try to have an open mind. I also hate to fight. Sometimes I admit I get a bit heated, but usually I walk away from the situation before I get too annoyed, or else I simply say "This is simply how I feel. I'm sorry if I offended anybody" and I leave it at that.

OMG!!!! I just looked, she's locked like 4 threads involving rudeness on the phone. Saying we're trying to be "cute" in our "rudeness"....um I don't think any of us claimed to be cute. I'm trying to find a place to report moderators, but there isn't a place to do so. Argh!!! I just want to file a complaint that she is locking and deleting threads because she personally find them offensive and they hadn't even gotten nasty or offensive!!! People were actually having a good time!!! What the hell.
