New beauty treatments, how wild are these?

I've been reading about some of the laser resurfacing to get rid of lines and age spots, and WOW.

Also there is a glaucoma medicin that makes your lashes grow longer as a side effect (I used to work for an eye doctor, so I saw this in action, it's amazing) and now they manufacturer is trying to isolated the ingredient and sell it as a beauty product.

Anyone else seen crazy new stuff?

Anal and vaginal bleaching.

Not very new, but definitely still crazy. :

Anal bleaching?!?!

Wow.

Why? Why does a butthole need to be any color other than what it is? Nevermind, I'm not sure I even want to know the answer to that one.

If I EVER get to the point where the rest of me is so darn perfect that I worry about the colour of hairs emerging from my ass, I will thank the Holy Heavens for blessing me with such beauty. Seriously. What. The. You know.

Thanks for that!

I know someone who takes seizure medications and one of the side effects was that her straight blonde hair is now brown and curly. Beautiful curls, actualy. I keep expecting someone to try to isolate that to market to people.

Actually, it's the butthole itself, not the hair around it, the skin of the hole. (Or vulva/labia, or areola. The parts that get darker from having babies and gettin' old.) Porn stars started doing it to make their uh, selves, "prettier" since typically porn stars rock the bald look down there.

Doesn't knowing that just make it even better?

It... oh. Oh my.

Y'know, pretty much every centimetre of the female body is open to criticism, and we STILL can't get older gentlemen to stop growing those ear hairs How is that fair?

Um, eww.

Ds's father has hair growing out of his ears. Lots of it. It's nasty. I mentioned it to him before and told him there are special shaped clippers that can take care of that. He doesn't care. Then again, he doesn't even clean his ears.

horrible as the bleaching is, (OWWW?), there is a procedure to lengthen legs, it's a surgery and it takes a year of basically being bed ridden. You can imagine how this is.

It's being done in Asia. I'd love longer legs, but man, I could never do that......

Whoa. I'd say that's a little more extreme than the bleaching, eh?

You can also get cosmetic surgery for your labia, etc.

Semi-permanent eyelash extensions. I saw these offered at my salon a couple weeks ago when I went in for a pedicure.

The extensions are actually glued to your existing lashes rather than glued to your eyelid. They virtually eliminate the need for mascara. You can have as many added as you want. I think they charge per lash. They last 4 to 6 weeks.

I was going to inquire about the cost and got sidetracked. I saw this service offered in Sweden 2 years ago, but this is the first time I've seen it offered here.

I've been reading about laser resurfacing since the '90s and anal bleaching since the early part of this decade. I wonder what they have going on now.:

I'll pass on the bleaching but I'd love longer, thicker lashes.

I'd also love longer legs but not if it involved surgery or something crazy.

lash extensions tend to be $250-$300, I looked.....

My mom has glaucoma, along with several other eye conditions (she is legally blind, though still has some sight). She uses the mentioned medicine in one eye, but not the other.

You really can tell the difference in her lashes.
