39 weeks and 1 day here

trying to get everything done before the babe arrives. is that actually possible?

i'm reallllllllly hoping for my waterbirth. my friend who was also planning her waterbirth with the same midwives ended up having a c-section the other day. i've been listening to my hypnobabies and trying to stay positive!!!

i got checked at my appointment the other day. i'm a half of a cm dilated and 50% effaced. my mw said to do a lot of walking, squats, and swimming. i'm so thankful my in-laws have a pool because that is the only thing that doesn't aggravate this stupid hemorroid i've had for the last 2 weeks! (sorry if that's TMI).

JennaW--i hope this baby comes naturally for you soon!!!

41+1 here! More BH, more pressure on my pelvis, but nothing consequential.

DH is going out of town for 2 days to his best friend's wedding. It's 4 hours' drive away, and he waffled for ages about going, but I finally just said he should go. It was hard for him to leave but, hey, 4 hours isn't so bad. I'm not likely to give birth that quickly even if I do go into labor in the next two days. My mom is here and she has a car so we can still do stuff.

I'm still happy to be pregnant!

I was thinking about you today!! My BFF drank castor oil (I told her about it, but said I would never do it again...) and she called one day out of the blue and said well I did it, and the baby's here. April 2nd, 2008. I think you'll do great mama!!! Oh it took her about 3-4 hours to really get into a good patern with diarreah (sp?) and ctx.

Had an overwhelming urge to bake muffins today...perhaps that's a sign of impending labor? hehe

to everyone waiting at 41+!

I'm just at 37w2d here, so as expected, nothing happening .

I'm really getting excited to meet our little one, now reading about all the births! We're going to a birth class tonight, refresher one, so hopefully that will put me in the spirit too.

Still trying to think about the possibility of not having this little one until the second week of August. Which would be hard with our timing for DHs job. If she arrived on her EDD or around there, DH would get an automatic 2 weeks off, but 2nd week of August...he'd have to use sick days/personal days to take a babymoom. Sigh!

Wow, sounds like alot is going on! Here's to you have regular or irregular ctx right now. I am not even having BH today for some reason...oh well, everyone needs some rest right? I took dd to the grocery store, and the manager wouldn't put the bags in my car unless I had someone home to unload them! DH cannot say I never grocery shop now since the manager remembers me

It is steamy yucky hot here again today, thank goodness we got our air fixed yesterday when it was only a humid 70 degrees. I am trying to forget this weekend that I am preggers or any where close to being ready for ds to arrive. We are having a big cookout playdate tomorrow, dd and I are baking cookies later today, and who knows what else I'll do.

I am in denial that this one is coming out soon after the false labor attack Tues night (which I know now as EPO induced - I accidentally took a second dose of 2 pills at night too, which must have sent me over and caused regular ctx or BH in me...I think I had a mix of both). I hope that I can come to terms with it will be when it happens so I don't hinder my labor

How much did you drink? Isn't it awful??? I gagged and gagged....
I hope you're in labor at this point!!

Had my 39 week midwife appointment yesterday (By my calculations I'm 39w3d, by one of the midwives I'm 39w1d and by the other I'm 39today all going off the same day)...

Had some long real contractions yesterday morning after some nipple stimulation and then just felt crampy, yucky and having a few contractions all day yesterday.

I have a dilema. Tonight the midwife that I want to be there for the birth as she's willing to wait out the pitocin after birth a little is having her weekend off. Which means I would get the other one who wants immediate pitocin and the second would be a midwife from another group that I do not know.

Monday the good one is back and is "on" next weekend. I was really quite content to wait until next thursday (there's a group of us that gets together and we were going for the whole full moon, local labour "pasta" and whatever else fanicied our mood labour inductions ) but now she's telling me that she has a bunch of overdue woman coming up next week and is expecting a busy week... After wednesday I also have two friends back in town to look after DD (I don't want the family doing it )

BUT FIL is gone on vacation until Wednesday and that's a great thing as he lives in our suite and I could labour without him calling any of the family. A HUGE plus. Especially on the MIL aspect.

I really feel like if I hadn't been so tired last night I could have gotten the labour going (those contractions yesterday morning and the rest of the day and throughout the night last night were pretty convincing....) but I was too tired from the long day out I had that there was no way I could have laboured....

I'm not in a huge rush, it would be nice to have the baby before FIL gets home but do I want to try and get labour started? Meh the baby will come when it's ready, the baby will come when it's ready, the baby will come when it's ready, the baby will come when it's ready... (it would just be nice to not have to deal with the MIL stress )

I took 4 tablespoons mixed into fresh squeezed OJ. It really wasn't that bad going down.

Not in labor yet, hopefully soon!

JennaW, I hope your labor kicks in very soon. I have used CO a time or two, and it seems to me that it can take from 2 to 6 hours for it to kick start things. So, you have plenty of time.

I just got back from the store and while I was there already I decided to pick up some CO, just in case.

I am not sure I want to even attempt it, but then again this start/stop thing is just exhausting and frustrating. So, who knows what I may be pushed to do soon.

: Megan!!!

I went to sleep shortly after I posted last night, I was actually exhausted so went to bed early for me (before the kids, even). Got up at 7:30, did the appointment, got home, went back to sleep till 12:30 when the kids got up. We're on such a late schedule right now, but I'm liking it, actually.

To whomever had asked about my chiro? (Sorry, don't remember who it was) Yes, she has a special table for prenatal stuff, and lots of belly hole [illows to stack
I chose her specifically through the IPCA4kids site, cause I definitely wanted someone certified with them that specialized in prenatal stuff. She's great. Chiro, acupuncture, nutrition and pediatrics is what she does. And the clinic is great. Personal trainer, massage, all of that.

My mom and step-dad are coming to town this weekend for a wedding for his family, so they're coming over when they get into town and we're going to go eat at Rainforest Cafe for Max's upcoming birthday He asked to go there for his b-day and I told him we would, and I had told my mom about it. So she decided we would go today. And it's their treat, so yay!! (That place can get pricey!!)

Today's the only day we'll be seeing them, since they'll be doing other stuff this weekend, which is ok with me!

And I think we're gonna go to my step-brother's with them later. I like my step brother and his wife a lot, but they're just from a very different place, so it's hard to be comfortable. Well, I can do it ok, but poor dh has NO IDEA how to relate to guys who love sports and talking about "guy" things. My dh is a geek and doesn't even know how to pretend to have anything to talk about with them. I always feel bad for him,

I am SO glad dh is off tomorrow, too. I have also been very attached to him. I MISS him when he's at work all day

I could sleep even more, I think.

What is it w/the needing dh's???? I've been feeling the same way lately. And I am usually not like that! Of course, he has been SUPER sweet lately. Maybe that has something to do with it!

Well, I got all the floors in the house bleached. I also scrubbed down the walls from all the crayon marks. I'm completely caught up on washing laundry, just need to fold it and put it away. The bathroom has been scrubbed. Next on my list is to...
  • put down the new bath rugs I got, pick up toys (well have the kids pick up their toys-its my favorite "rule"--I hate that word!)
  • vacuum the rugs and living room and kids' room
  • re-wash the diapers
  • bring the changing table in the house (w/dh's help of course )
  • clean the living room windows and both bedroom windows, oh & kitchen windows
By that time, I'll probably be so exhausted, but I'd like to get my room cleaned up and organized.

Jenna- I hope you get the birth you want! Sending ELV's to you!!

I just had to say that I just made the most fabulous snickerdoodles ever!! I am tempted to eat like a dozen with a tall glass of milk!! I haven't made them in years and just got a hankering! My girls helped roll them in the cinnamon and sugar which they loved. Now if only I could find something to do for the rest of our forecasted rainy weekend.........

If sweets were such an aversion right now, I would be drooling!

Here's the recipe for those interested (and have it cool enough to bake!).
The only changes I made to this recipe is that I use 3 cups of flour instead of 2 3/4 and double the sugar/cinnamon at the bottom. I have also tried adding wheat germ and using whole wheat flour to feel less guilty about all the sugar in them. LOL It made 4 doz (surely I won't eat all of them!!).
Thanks for the recipe. I was going to ask for it!

Of course, I will not be trying it until after Baby is born. But that should be very soon!

Oh goody! I always love trying out new recipes!

It reminds me of the last time I made snickerdoodles... I was in our bedroom cleaning out and going thru all the paperwork and the kids had not come in to bother me one time in like 20 min which I thought was very odd. Well, come to find out, the had ate all the cookies that were on the kitchen table on a plate! Oh geez... Talk about sugar!

i'm feeling sooo much better this afternoon! it's amazing what a mini-melt-down, a good MW appt, delicious thai food for dinner, followed by a raspberry soda w/vanilla ice cream can to for the soul!

babe is LOP, but that an improvement from being just plain old OP. so for now, i'll keep up the inversions and hope for the best :
