I'm such a novice!

I've been getting the urge to knit again so I figured I'd try out the soakers listed at the top of the page.

I've only ever made scarves so I know I need to go out and get a circular needle, but what the heck does "Join and mark for beginning of round." mean?

Does it just mean to cast on and use a marker so I know where the beginning and end is?

I'm terribly confused!:

Yup, that's it. Join (ie keep knitting a circle) after you add a marker.

I'm working my way through the Sheepy Pants pattern for the second time. Between the pattern and knittinghelp.com I'm managing. (although I'll need more help on the legs this time. The legs on the last one are different sizes!)

Yep. Spread your cast on stitches out across the circular needle and make sure the row of stitches isn't twisted around the needle. Then bring your last cast on stitch around so it's at the end of the right needle, place a marker, and knit into the first st on the left needle (the first one you cast on.) Snug up that first stitch when you join.
