I have been having ctx all night, I was timing them and they were all over the place so I stopped. I just started timing them again and they are two and half to three to five mins apart, lasting mostly 30-45 seconds. The ctx are terribly painful. Any idea what this is, I hate to call my midwife, it is midnight, over nothing.

You can try some things to relax- if it's true labor your ctx won't go away, if they're just bh they should calm down.
1) drink water
2) eat some protein
3) take a warm bath
4) take some cal/mag suppliment
5) take a dose of Bach's rescue remedy
6) get down on your hands and knees and do pelvic rocks
7) get down in the chest/knee position, with your cheek on the bed/floor
8) sit on a birthball
These are the things my mw has suggested I do when I'm having ctx. The things which have actually helped me in the past are the bath and rescue remedy.
Hope this is real labor for you, and that your ctx get good and regular and productive!
