1st M school just opened in town...some ?s

I am a working mom, and looking for child care for my 18 mo old son. Right now my sister keeps him in our home, but she is going back to her far-away college next month.

There is a new Montessori school opening in my city next month, the first M school here! The schedule is perfect for us: they have a 3-day a week program on the three days that I work! It is about 5 minutes from our house and 15 minutes from my work. I have an interview/tour scheduled with them next Friday, and I hope I like the school environment as much as the location and schedule. I have to admit my biggest worry is the cost. We live in East Texas, which has a low cost of living compared to the rest of the US, so what kind of price can I expect to pay? What do you pay where you live? Other "upper middle class" preschools & daycare centers in the area charge about $100-150/week.

My son is also dealing with some anger/aggression issues. He hits, pinches & bites when he is frustrated or very tired. Will the Montessori environment help with this? How will they handle the situation if he bites another child?

That's all I can think of now, I'll edit this post if I think of more Qs later. Thanks!

Since schools are so different, you'll really need to ask them about those things. I think the main thing would be helping your son stay rested and balanced, and also using gentle discipline/teaching methods. That's what I would look for. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
