Any Oakley/ Brentwood mom?

Hi, I live in Oakley/Brentwood area, and feel totally alone! I know alot of other moms but none with the "green" thinking healthy living ways. I need support in that area since i don't have much support. All i have is my sister and she lives in Sanoma and we hardly get to talk much since we're both busy mom. Anyone out there? :

Hey Marga!

Welcome to MDC! I love it here!

I'm not in Oakley or Brentwood but I'm not too far away, in Concord!

My daughter just turned ONE 1.5 weeks ago but she is a very social creature and loves older kids. We can chat here, PM or even meet at a park someday...

Hi Marga..

I'm about 15 (or so) minutes away from you in Pittsburg. We will be moving to the Oakley/Brentwood area in february though. If you & Rhiann ever plan a get together, I'll love to join you both if that's okay

Oh wonderful! I would love to make play dates! Sarabeth and i get so lonely at home especially with the way gas prices are! It would be great to meet other moms and children for her to play with and other moms to hang out with! Keep me updated! :

Hi..

How about next week some time? Mon, wed or fri is best for me, but tues or thurs would probably work too, depending on the time. I don't mind driving to Oakley or Concord, or we could meet somewhere in the middle from you both. Any ideas? What times work best? Looking forward to meeting some new mamas :

The same days work for me! Send me a message about where you guys want to meet! Sarabeth usually takes a nap in the middle of the afternoon so either mornings or late (3ish and on) afternoons work for me.... If you like (and if its warm enough) we can meet here and all go swimming at my community pool, the pool ends up only being 4 1/2 feet deep so its totally safe for babies and tods! I love it here. :

hi! I'm in Antioch, so right by you I'd totally be interested in a crunchy mom meetup! My DD is almost 2. I have a brand new baby, so I likely couldn't do swimming though....

sorry to cut this short, NAK

Out of M, W, & F, Wednesday works the best for us next week and then Monday after that. We have a LLL meeting on Friday so definitely aren't available then. (Anyone still nursing their toddler and want to go with us? It's a toddler meeting!)

I'm still fairly new to the East Bay so my park knowledge is mostly of Concord, Walnut Creek and a few parks in San Ramon where I used to nanny.

There's a lovely quiet shaded park with a smallish playground here in Concord and a GREAT one with a HUGE playground called Mateo's Dream but I imagine most of you would rather meet somewhere closer to Antioch/Pittsburg?

My DD naps at 10 & again at 3. But don't worry about us, a quick walk in the Mei Tai and she'll nap anywhere!

Oh i've been wanting to see that park! If everyone is okay with meeting there (next wendsday) i'm fine with it. What time? :

Hey mamas.

I LOVE mateos dream park. We always go there. There is also the new city park in Antioch on A st. I do know of other parks, but don't know the names of them or have ever paid attention to the street they're on. I just know how to get there.
There is also small world park in Pittsburg, but that doesn't open until 11am & costs money to get in. It's a great park though, we love it there!

Mama moose, would the park in Concord work for you too? Congrats on the new little one Did you end up choosing Mason as your homebirth midwife?

As far as times to meet, I'm pretty flexible.

FYI, tomorrow..

If anyone wants to join me tomorrow, I will be going to an indoor play area at the Nick Rodriguez community center in Antioch (I think it's on F st) It's for kids 5 years and under. You can go anytime between 10 & 11:30. $4 for the first child, $3 for the 2nd. It's a huge indoor area with slides, tunnel, castle to climb on, toys, books, playdough, paper & pens to color, play food, things to climb on, balls etc, etc... I went last Friday & my 2 younger kids had a lot of fun!

(I'm nak, as usual, so excuse the typos )

I can get to mateo's dream, but only after 2:30 or 3pm, my DH works until then and we only have 1 car (and I'll let you in on my secret, I don't know how to drive ), we love that park though so if its not an issue that he tags along and the afternoon time its good for us!
I live in downtown antioch so I can easily walk to the new park on A st (we love that park too BTW, its a lot like mateos dream! and SO much nicer than what was there before), I can also bus it to small world park, and August would probably live there if given the option
So, all that to say, I'm pretty open to whatever is good for everyone else but if its not something I can bus or walk to it will have to be after DH gets off work.

Also, theres a LLL meeting tomorrow, 10am at the new Kaiser on Deer Valley in Antioch, if anyone wants to come! (sparkling- is the toddler meeting in concord? is it tomorrow or next friday? I'm still nursing DD1 so I'd be interested, but I can't go if it conflicts with my normal LLL series meetings)

crunchymama- I did go with mason and she was amazing : It was the most wonderful experience and she was so awesome and supportive. Love love love Mason
I'll be sad to miss you at the community center tomorrow, I live literally right down the street! Is it every friday? I already told my friend I'd be at LLL so I can't skip out on them or else I'd be down there! (my DD would probably enjoy it more than being on the bus too....)
Actually, now that I'm typing, if you see someone with a teeny tiny baby in a sling or moby, it might be me , I just broke out in a sweat thinking about taking my two kids on the bus, so I might have to decide in the morning wether I want to venture to lll or not....

ETA: I guess I'm roped into LLL tomorrow, I was asked to bring some paper that needed printing....well, wish me luck on the bus LOL

You DH is more then welcome to come! Later in the afternoon works for me too because then DS has had a nap and can play longer and not be so cranky. Is everyone okay with the afternoon?

Hillcrest Park (Mateos dream) would work for me in the afternoon too, but just wanted to mention that there will be horrible traffic going back home later in the afternoon. Not really for me because I get off on Bailey Rd exit, but for those going back to Antioch & Oakley. Let me know if another park would be better to meet at.

Mama moose, hope the bus ride wasn't too bad today. Maybe next Friday you can make it to the community center. It's every Friday through August. Yep, I love Mason too I had her for my last 2 homebirths. I'm glad you had such an awesome experience!

I am in Antioch as well. I know mamamoose. I have a 3 year old & a 10 month old. Mornings & afternoons are good for us until the end of August. I have a part time sitting job until then & it occupies my late afternoons & evenings Tuesday through Thursday & every other Friday. I'd love to join a meet up sometime.

Happy monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Does anyone know if there are any stable plans for Wednesday?
Wednesday I'm booked. I am taking Turner for a free trial at the little gym in brentwood(its top expensive for us to sign up but I figure the experience is wort it) then we have 1st five class @ 1PM & I have to leave by 3PM to pick up my charge from school in Berkeley. We don't usually get back until 8:30PM.

But we are going to the concord Library @ 7PM for stories & a craft tonight if anyone wants to meet. We usually play @ the playground after.

Tomorrow we will be @ todo Santos park in concord for the farmers market. The contra costa homeschoolers are meeting there as well if anyone was interested in homeschool. That is @ 10 am. I can post more ideas if people want.

For instance today @ big break regional shoreline in oakley they had wetlands stories for kids. It was super fun. Brodie loved it. We are always looking for playdates & fun educational outings.

I'll be at storytime tonight too

Wednesday I'm free after 3 but we don't really have the gas $ to get to concord, we don't get paid until Friday. I could meet somewhere in Antioch though, in the morning or in the afternoon.
I'm going to that indoor playtime at Nick Rodriguez center on Fri morning this week too crunchymama, are you going?
We can get out to Concord this Friday afternoon too...or next week any afternoon....
