Any Oakley/ Brentwood mom? - Page 3

Hi everyone! I'm new here....

Hi everyone,
I just moved to Brentwood from Humboldt and haven't met many people yet. I have Hannah 3 1/2 and Isaac 22 months. I've been to a few mainstream playdates here in Brentwood, but I would prefer to meet more AP families for my babies to be around and so that I have other parents I can relate to better. I am a stay at home mom, so I am usually available to hang out anytime; and I'd love to be a part of this group!

P.S.-Hi Chrystie! I am the one you met at Creative Kids meetup and saw again at the Library. I am so glad I talked to you because I was thinking about how I should find other AP parents and you totally reminded me about this site! Hope to see you guys again soon!

Welcome all the new mamas that have joined this thread! I hope we can all arrange a playdate soon! Sarabeth and I had so much fun last week that we can't wait to have another one. Sarabeth keeps asking me when we drive on the freeway "park? Mama park?" We'll all have to meet up soon. I"m always free mondays wednesdays and fridays! Oh and on weekends as well.

Marga, I can meet at Mateos dream park on Wednesday. Anyone else?? I'm still hoping to make it on Thursday behind the Concord library too. Phoenix, I'm not sure if I'm going to the community center this Friday, but I will let you know. How's little Liberty doing?

Rhiann, how are you feeling? Has the "morning" sickness hit yet?

Oh BOY!

We'll try to make it. My dad just came up for a few days and I want to spend some time with him before he heads home to Oregon. Maybe I'll drag him along!

I have long curly blonde hair and am rather full figured. Allura has blonde hair also and is teeny. This way, hopefully you guys will recognize me.

Crunchymama~Nope, no morning sickness yet. Although, I'm not really prone to it. I never had it with Allura or my m/c's either. I'll tell you what has already hit hard...the fatigue! Man, I am SO tired by noon.

I love the idea of the park behind the Lindsay Museum. That's a great park. I think it's called Larkey Park? If someone wants to meet there another time too, that would be great. I'm sure Allura would love to see the animals in the Museum too.

New Mamas~
YAY! So nice to see some more local moms! Hope to see you at a park soon.

Rhiann, Lucky you M/S was the worst part of being pregnant for me. The fatigue can be pretty tough though too, I hope you can at least try to squeeze in a nap during the day.

Marga, see you tomorrow and hopefully some other mamas too!

I can't make it tomorrow (DH is working so no ride) but I think we're gonna try to go to the concord Library park on Thurs. We'll be there more towards 11 though because DH will get off at 10 from work.

Thanks for asking about Liberty, shes doing ok, but I'm trying cutting out dairy to see if that helps the colic, its turned into an all day kinda thing and I feel so bad for her

I'm excited about all the mamas on this thread! : Theres crunchy hope for this area lol :

Pulling out. Baby T is sneezing & conjested & Brodie started coughing. Staying in bed for as long as they will let me.

Next week on Monday @ 9:30am we plan on going back out to big break for storytime.

Tuesday @ 10am we are joining the contra costa county homeschoolers meet up for a scavenger hunt.

Pittsberg Library has its monthly event for little ones @ 11am tuesday though if anyone was looking for something to do.

Wednesday @ 10 we are going to try to attend regal cinemas free showing of pipi longstocking (can't be helped I'm a huge fan.)

But I also know there is a tilden tots event that day in Berkeley too. 10am.

Thursday ill probably be @ API but tilden tots is at same time. 10am

& Friday the 8th @ 7PM we are going to brentwood for starry night concert series.

Oh there are tilden events next weekend as well but I'm not sure what we will be doing except soccer on Saturday morning & Sunday @ 10am out at big break is a craft.

If anyone wants to join me let me know. Could also meet on Monday or Wednesday or Friday after earlier engagement.

Oh & we will be @ concord Library Monday @ 7PM

May try to go to Clayton @ 2PM Monday.

Another fun day at the park :)

I didn't realize it was that late when I finally left. Time flies when you're having fun chatting away with other mamas

Christie (sp?) Sorry you weren't able to make it, I hope Brodie & Turner are feeling better soon!

Phoenix, I really hope you can find something to help Liberty. Did you talk to Mason about it, maybe she has some other ideas? She always seemed to have great info/ideas when issues came up for me. I feel bad for both Liberty and you too. It's tough on baby, but also tough on mama. for both of you!!

I did a search for Concord library and the only one that came up was on Salvio st. Just want to make sure that's the right one?

Api

What a great park day! It was so nice to meet you Marga and Andrea and your little ones!!
I was involved with API when Hannah was an infant and we lived in Fresno, but I've been out of the API loop since then, so I really want to come to the API thing in the morning but I was a little confused about it. Is tomorrow actually IN the library? Or somewhere nearby? If so, where does everyone usually meet?

Thanks!
Nicole

I had such a great time yesterday. I know Sarabeth did too. Andrea is was so nice to see you again, and Nicole it was very nice meeting you. I'm so sorry the other mama's couldn't join! I missed you all! There is always a next time.
I think i'm going to try to make it to big break next monday, but my weekend is so booked i hope i'm not to exhausted. Life is so crazy right now!
Phoenix I'm sorry to hear about Liberty's colic, Sarabeth was a very colicy baby too, I can understand how exhausting it is. Unfortunetly i never found any relief for SB (sarabeth) i just rocked her in my arms alot! oh and i had one of those bouncer thingies that seemed to bounce the gas out of her, but every child is different i'm sorry i can't be much help.
I hope we can make another play date soon, i can't tell you guys enough how crazy my life is right now and how much the play dates put me in a better mood!

Rainbow crocs- off topic...

Off topic: Just to let you know; I was on Ebay tonight and someone has a pair of the Rainbow crocs for sale in a size 8 women's, like the pair I was wearing today. The current bid was only $16.00, so I thought I'd pass the tip on; because the color is pretty hard to find (it's discontinued). I can't remember if it was Andrea or Chrystie, but one of you said you were interested in a pair....

P.S. great to see you guys today and nice to meet you Phoenix!

Nicole

Yay for rainbow crocs!

Marga, sorry life is so crazy. That is is too. We are always out looking for playdates & adventures. Feel free to join us anytime.

Andrea, sorry we did not get to chat longer. I always enjoy speaking with mothers who have kids older than mine. I guess I'm always looking for someone to say, "oh yes my eldest was that way when he was brodies age"...lol. Next time we should talk more.

I had lots of fun @ the park on Thursday. I hope we didn't get anyone sick. As I said before we waited 2 days but one can never tell with a cold. I would never being me kids out if I thought they were contagious. Just wanted to restate that as well. More later.
