where should my cervix be?

I gave birth 3 in a half weeks ago and I'm just not sure what I should "look like" at this point but I did notice that it seems like my cervix is "right there". I felt inside my vagina today and noticed it right at the opening. Is this in the realm of normal for 4 weeks postpartum or should I be worried about a prolapse?

I have never been able to feel my cervix. So I would be concerned.

But, I am not sure for others.

Totally normal. I had that too. I thought for sure it was going to fall out! Then I did some reading.

that happens a lot, especially if you had a low cervix to begin with.
kegels should help a lot, but dont worry about it too much right now, you're still healing!

Kegals. You may need estrogen supp at some pt esp w/nursing (I did- mine was way decended). It's pretty common (as is a cystocele and rectocele which can add to it). Mine totally was back to normal by 6 mo but I do have an ever so slight prolapse........ I'm really curious if you labored on your back. I did and I swear that's what did it for me.

Thanks, I'm totally freaking out about it. I labored in a semi-squat but I pushed him out so fast he literally flew out. I bet that's what did it. Aggg! I just looked at a site that really scared me about prolapse so hopefully I can still recover.

I am 17 days pp and noticed the same thing when i was only a week pp. went and saw my mw and she diagnosed a 2 degree uterine prolapse. nothing was "hanging out" but my cervix was right at the opening, I didn't have any pain from it other than having an achy feeling in my abdomen and where I would normally say my cervix is at. She suggested I wear a pessary till 6 week pp and by then uterus should be back to normal size and muscles and ligaments should be back to normal also. I am hoping that she is correct and things will heal back to normal. she also said that kegals would help but would not fix it all since the weight of uterus on stretched out muscles and ligaments. hope this helps
