How long does it take...

How long (roughly) is it going to take to fuse back together? Or maybe a better question would be: how long until it starts to look more like normal again?

I would not try to assess it for "normal" until 6 weeks.

I had a 3rd degree tear w/my son. I didn't even look down there until about 6 weeks. It was not healed yet! I had a lot of pain for about a month. Didn't have sex until about 6 months. I'm not sure when it healed completely but now, at 19 months (LOL), it looks pretty normal. I can barely see my scar.

I shouldn't have looked either! It's difficult to see it in such a bad condition!! Anyways, midwife looked today and said it was fine. She said it looked like the top stitch came out, but not enough to be concerned about and I should be fine. Thanks for the replies.
