Was in labor on and off after having my membranes stripped wednesday morning. They got real regular in the afternoon/evening at 4 mins so we decided to go in. I was at 4cm 60% eff -1 station. Was monitored and then checked again with no change but a small buldge in water so I was told to walk. We had arrived at the hospital at 6:30pm and after much walking we were admitted at 10pm. I was to be monitored for 20 minutes every hour but also walk as much as possible til 4am cause I would then be given some pitocin and a epi if I wanted. Did exactly that and at 4am I was 5cm. I went ahead and got an epi and OMG!! did i cuss like a sailor and cry when getting it but after I was feeling good. My blood pressure went down cause of the epi (which is normal) so they gave me a little medicine to raise it which gave me so heart flutters so I was then on some oxygen. I was check a few times with no change and at 8:40am dr came to break my water. They upped the pit some more and still little change. I started to worry about c/s(even though no one had even mentioned it I was just worrying lol) At 10:30am my nurse checked me and I was finally a 6 so she said she would be back in an hour to see how things were going. I was proud of myslef for finally getting to a 6 and talking to baby to move down. At 11:30am she came back and with every contraction I could feel pressure and the urge to push. I had gone from a 6 to 10 in an hour!!! OMG was i excited and scared at the same time. They dr got there 10 mins later and everything got set up and I then started to get emotional about pushing. The typical can I do it or will I fail. As soon as I saw the mirror and saw part of her head I was bawling! I gave 2 1/2 big pushes and she was born. DH cut the cord and blood spread all over him. When the placenta was born my dr said 'Wow, thats a huge healthy placenta'. Thought that was awesome. They laid her on my chest and let me feed her for the first hour withour taking her from me which was wonderful. She never left my sight for 12 hours and all test except hearing was done in my room. It was my most awesome birth. She has daddy's clif chin and looks just like him. We are wondering what her eyes are going to turn out to look like. This is dh technically first, even though he treats and loves our 2 yr old as his own, but he is wrapped around her little finger and loves her with the most pure love. I sit here now looking at her and have this amazing love and protection for her. Below are some pictures.
