Rex Romulo R. entered the world on May 27th at 8:01 am. His birth was perfect. It is so much easier to have and recover from a c-section when you haven't labored for 56 hours. Our check in time at the hospital was at 5:30am. I had my IV in by 6 and was talking to the anesth. at 6:45. By 7:15, I was walking down the hall to the ER. It was very surreal. At 8:01, Rex was born. He weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 19 3/4". He was very alert. He started crying as soon as they got his head out. He nursed like a champ from the beginning and was even lifting his head and trying to look around.
Everything went great. The hospital was very respectful of my birth plan. My nurses were super. The only thing that sucked was that they had a hard time getting the IV in (they tried 3 times) & I threw up for a while after the delivery. Other than that it was great and we only had to stay for 2 days.
Here is link to a slideshow I created. I hope you enjoy.

). It was all very surreal, but went as well as it could have (and I suspect beats the heck out of laboring for 20 hours and THEN having a c/s - though I wouldn't know). Congrats on your boy - I'm glad everything was so positive for you!
