There seem to be enough threads about goats/chickens, etc., that it deserves its own subforum. Gardening has its own forum, so it seems like the animal part of homesteading should at least have its own subforum. If there are more people in favor of it than opposed to it then I will submit a thread in the Questions & Suggestions forum. What do you think?

any more places I can read about farm life/animals is awesome!!!

I'm not sure if it would divide it up and less educational (b/c I wouldn't happen across neat threads) or it if would make things easier to find. ?? I wish I knew which way to vote.

I notice that the gardening forum has just been moved so that it is now a sub-forum of Green Living instead of being its own forum. Hmm.

And is it just me or didn't Country Living used to be a subforum of Mindful Home Management?

I'm a little confused about this as well.

I'm more of a lurker than a poster in this section of the forum as I merely aspire to be off-grid someday.

Personally I would like to see the animal threads in another section. I'm just not interested in chickens, chickens, chickens all the time. I come to this forum looking for discussions about alternatives to the normal 2 cars, 3 kids, and a huge mortgage situation.

Now the gardening forum, the country living forum, and the mindful home managment forum all seem to be subforums in green living. I'm getting dizzy!

My head is spinning. Now Green Living is a subforum of Mindful Home Management.

I voted no because I hate going in and out of forums, like opening doors.

It could be nice but I really like coming to country living and happening upon the animal threads.

I don't ultimately care though.:

OK, gardening is now its own forum again, and Country Living is no longer a subforum of Green Living. Is it just me or is everything now back to the way it was to begin with?

Yeah, I think so. I am ok w/animals being in country living, although it seems like chickens need their own forum! Seriously, I think the fit is good here.

Late comer here since I missed voting in the poll... here's my 2cents if anyone cares to listen.

I think it would actually be nice to have a seperate forum in regards to keeping farm animals... some folks live in the country but don't raise/keep animals, they do not wish to... and not wanting to open a can of worms... but some people don't like that animals are being 'raised/kept'...

By having another forum or subforum about animals it might make country living a little more inviting to those folks who may avoid CL-OG becuase many of the posts here do have animals in them. I know I stay out of some sections here on MCD because I don't 'fit'. Maybe by seperating out the animal topics CL-OG could grow and we could all learn some things from folks who have tons to share but are staying away....

(Personally, I have and do keep animals, just looking at another perspective)
