Help! ? about what I can put on a metal lampshade and not have it melt!

I'm in a swap and my partner wanted a little light for her bunkbed. I found a neat little clip on light at a thrift store with a small metal lampshade. It has a 40watt bulb in it now but I think that's way too much and will cause major heat! I'll definitely get something smaller in size and wattage.
The lampshade is tiny-only 9 inches in diameter at base and 3.5 inches across the bottom. It's a soft metal-easily bendable-maybe tin?

My question is-I'd love to mod podge or put stickers on the lampshade but I'm worried about heat and if the items will melt off or even be a fire hazard.

Anyone have experience with this?

Any ideas?
Thanks!

it's not stickers, but i have applied grosgrain ribbon to lamp shades before with heat safe glue
