It's a fine time for chicken pox!!

My 7 year old came down with chicken pox last night!!! She's the fourth child. The older three have had them. The other kids have not. It's going to be a long few weeks. I'm also completely paranoid about the baby getting them. My pediatrician says she has my immunities but there are no guarentees. I'm a wreck!

OH Amy! YUCK! Sorry you have to deal with it! I hope the baby doesn't get them and the ped is right!!!

Yikes I'm sorry! Not that it makes you feel any better but when I got chicken pox my baby sister was still pretty new, she got them and did fine. I know that might not really be reassuring but I thought I would throw it out there. Try to just stay healthy and keep yourself and the baby alone as much as possible.

Thanks ladies I just feel so badly. I don't want to get near any of my other kids now. I know they are all going to get it. My second youngest is only 16 months. She will need me when she's sick, dh will be back at work. and I'll have this tiny baby that I'm supposed to keep away from them. Thank goodness the older kids can help but what a nightmare. I have to try really hard to not get PPD in general and I'm sure this is not going to help.

So sorry you have to deal with this. But I gotta say, I wish I did!

I have been hoping my younger children would find it somewhere before too long.

Don't worry about your new born. If you are immune, the baby should be immune too.

The person I have to worry about it my DH! He has had them twice, as has my older son, I think the males in my family just don't keep their immunity. So I would likely be dealing with an entire family of sick males. THAT would not be fun!

Oh my! I bet the baby be will fine, especially if you are nursing. Hugs to all of you to get through the next few trying days!

Oh, yikes!
I was paranoid because my brother just got them -- he's 38 !! -- and he will be visiting in August. Don't want the baby to get them. Totally unrealistic, of course. But I can't imagine having to deal with your situation!
