oh I love those cocoa and cream tums! I mean, as far as antacids go.

Personally, I'm all about the "wintergreen" tums. So yummy and soothing. I'm chewing ice constantly too, so I'm wondering if it *is* actually the talc in them that appeals to me so.

Ah, well. We're almost through, and I do try to restrain myself to 2 tums at a time.

I have really bad heartburn too. I told my doula who is training to be a midwife I take tums and she bit my head off. She said they are the worst thing you can take. Even though they work. I guess its true that they calsify(sp) your organs and placenta. Even my OB said to stay away from those. But darnit they work! I'm actually off to the herb store to see what they have.

Yes, there's been some discussion on here about the possibility of Tums causing a calcified placenta.

Yikes, I'm so sorry for you all with all that heartburn. I don't think I've ever had it. I get gassy, burping like crazy, if I lie down too shortly after a large meal. I'm glad there are things out there that help, but don't you wish you could get a solid answer on what's safe to take and what's not!! I mean really.
