More vaccines at one time=less assault on immune system? - Page 2

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, coming from a doctor, no less.

The "powers that be" say that it's ok to expose infants to multiple viruses and bacterias at one time because it is possible for such exposure to occur in natural life. However, opponents of multivalent vaccines argue that children are very unlikely to be exposed to all such things at one time. I mean, really, how likely is it for one kid to be exposed to Measles, Mumps and Ruebella all in one 24 hour period? Not likely at all.

On top of that, there is VERY LITTLE scientific research that has been done to determine if the compounding of such vaccines doesn't cause unknown or unexpected reactions based simply on the fact that the vaccine is compounded.

The truth is THEY DON'T KNOW. But doctors have a really hard time saying that, so they make up whatever sounds good to them at the time and hope you don't question them on it.

Read: "Vaccinations: A Thoughtful Parents Guide " by Aviva Jill Romm for more information about multivalent vaccines and the risks associated with them.

What amazes me is how terrified the docs always sound in this discussion. It seems clear that they have NO real information at their disposal, and the propaganda makes them panic and try to pass it on.

I wanted to add that there are only a few of the VPD that I wouldn't WELCOME getting...

So, yeah...we're out there...give us your measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, and chicken pox...

I didn't give any of my kids vaccines until around age 2- a bit younger for my 2nd DD (about 18mo) and a bit longer for DS (he was nearly 3) and then I let them have 1 or 2 vaccines at a time, a month or two apart.

Wouldn't there be even less stress on the immune system if you do them every 2 months like the dr recomends, but only do 1 or 2 at a time (spreading out the vaccine series over an even longer period of time.)?

I don't use hand sanitizer at all (though it is convenient to use right after changing poopy diapers away from home.) I won't even buy antibacterial soap. We use hydrogen peroxide to clean cuts and scrapes- that's about the only time we kill germs around here!
