Present for my friend's baby

Here are some more diapers from the ottobre pattern. They are size 1 (the smallest) but I don't think they will fit a newborn (unless she gives birth to an 11lber). There are 9 layers of flannel (3 body layers and 6 soaker layers). They didn't take too long to dry in the Alberta air, but I don't know how that'll work in damp vancouver! The fabric is neutral because my friends aren't finding out the sex (and orange happens to be her hubby's fave color).

They look fantastic! I'm sure she'll love them. I'm glad you posted this b/c I've been eyeing the Ottobre pattern-now I'll save it til I finish up my NB stash

Thank you for your comments! My hubby thought I would have a hard time giving them away, but I can always make more. Sewing diapers is definitely addicting...they're such a quick and easy project. I actually sewed these 4 'factory-style' so they worked up really quick. You can expect more pictures of homemade dipes in the future

I made a couple more dipes for another friend who has a 4-month old. I used size 2 (2-6 months) of the ottobre pattern and made it pocket-style. I'll bet they're too big for him now, but he'll grow into them. A note on the Christmas colors, not planned...just the fabric I happened to have in my stash!

Front

Back

Inside is polyester-fleece

I left an opening in the front for stuffing. Insert is 3 layers of flannel and one of terry.

I'm really happy with how the pockets turned out. I will always make pocket-fitteds from now on!
