It's true! You really can't stay pregnant forever!

At some point, the baby comes out... even if it is at 42 weeks and 5 days gestation!

My daughter arrived Monday morning at 5:51 AM via successful, if long and arduous, homebirth VBAC. : 8 pounds, 15 ounces and about 22 inches long, with lots of hair on her 14 1/2 inch head. She spent most of her first day nursing avidly. I am a bit tired and sore, but definitely on a high - so very different from my feelings after my son was surgically extracted.

Take heart, impatient mamas... your babies will eventually be born. I just hope no one else here has quite as long a gestation as me!
