She definitely looks like an oriental shorthair to me.

I think she'll be a beautiful cat but the really pointy features are a bit jarring on a kitten. Almost like she's got a grown-up cat face on her itty bitty fuzzy little body.

I'm thinking beautiful and exotic... like a young super model kitty
I don't really like fluffy kittens I like the big tilted eyes and huge ears. And look at that pose! So regal.

Yeah, I'm guessing things will even out a little as she gets bigger...

I voted she's kind of ugly.

However, I think she will become a beautiful cat once she grows into those giant ears. Very sleek and elegant is my prediction.

Enjoy the new kitty

She's funny looking to me, but that makes her cute, if kwim. I like her big ears too. I had a male cat that had huge ears like that , and a long pointy face, he may have had a bit of that oriental breed that one of the op's linked to.

phatchristy, I can't open your links

I too can't see any persian, my son and I think the people are crazy. I tried to call them a couple of times, but I haven't heard back. The ad went up the day before yesterday so I'm hoping she's still there. I must admit that I was hoping that everyone would say that she's ugly because that would give a better chance of her still being available

That, and the fact that they live really out of the way might help

I don't know why the links aren't working! UGH, I'll go check after this. You can go to CFAinc.org and just click on the breed profiles for the breeds I mentioned, that should work.

Sounds like you don't have the kitty yet, what do *you* think? Do you think the kitty is cute? I doubt the ears will look that much smaller as they do grow as the kitten grows. Sometimes the ear placement will drop, meaning that they will be lower on the side of the head. At least, that's what usually happens with persians...don't know if it's happened with all cats!

Oh, we think that she's striking and gorgeous. I talked to the guy today, sounds like a very nice home. Her mother is a purebred Siamese, father is the neighbor's persian-type mixed cat (I expect that just means that he has long hair). She's never been outside, and sounds like she has a very nice temperament.

We have plans to go there tomorrow evening so we'll see

I'd think she was totally cool if she was just spontaneously that way. If someone purposefully bred a cat to look that way, I'd thnk it was just hokey.

I think she's pretty funny looking, but it doesn't really matter

She's absolutely adorable! If you don't want her, I'll take her! But there's no way there's Persian in her!

So you got to see her in person? Sounds like you think she's cute! Wonder WHY he bred her though! You said she was never outside, sounds like he wanted her to have a litter.

Yes, I think that's the case. You'll hate me for this, but I'm just not as hardcore about cat breeding as dog breeding. The mother is an extreme, modern style Siamese (they said she's a 'rare' albino but I'll see when I get there on Friday).

It's possible that she escaped, as you know cats can be pretty determined when they're in heat.

Either way though, no I haven't seen her in person yet, we're going on Friday. But I'm sure that we want her anyway, I knew that when I saw the picture the first time. Worst case scenario, she's not healthy and we walk away, we do still have that option.

HUH? Albino siamese? Siamese are pointed cats, and their colorpoints are exhibited based on body heat patterns. So, that means tail, legs, ears, face will exhibit color.

Maybe it's really an oriental, or one of those similar breeds which has solid colors as acceptable. Not like it really matters.

The #1 thing of course is that she's healthy. Check out all the basics, ears, eyes, nose, skin, etc...LOL. Are you going to take her to the vet right away?

Somehow I think breeding and cats it's far worse in terms of the fact that a lot of people don't spay/neuter and let them roam around outdoors.

Actually, I don't know because when I've had girls in heat they never tried to escape LOL. But, they were always indoor only cats. In my experience girls in heat are so messed up they expect the boys to come to them! Just rolling around on the floor like they're in agony. But, that's also full blown heat. Also, people will generally not keep intact male cats indoors because they SPRAY. And intact male spray is very potent. If it happens in the showhall often you smell it the whole weekend. ICK! (even if they clean it)

I think she is kind of ugly, but I have a kind of ugly little black kitten too. :

cute... and she definitely reminds me of a cornish or devon rex mix.
