presentation of head

my baby is posterior right now (at almost 35 weeks), so i have been doing inversion and pelvic tilts to encourage baby to turn anterior. but i have noticed that sometimes, the baby seems to be laying diagonally rather than straight up and down. the head will feel like it is off-center in my pelvis, towards my left hip while the baby's body will be way off to the right in my uterus. is this typical? something i should be concerned about? seems like if the baby is presenting that way when i go into labor, it would make labor longer and more painful aside from the fact that the baby is already posterior anyways.

Hey there! I don't have an answer, just wanted to add that my baby feels exactly the same way! Don't know if she's posterior, but often seems to be diagonal and hanging out on my right hand side up the top of my belly. I'm concerned about positioning too, as my first was malpositioned, ending in C-section. I'm 33.5 weeks, by the way. So I'll be interested in the answers too.

it's pretty normal for this time of the pregnancy. my baby is in the same position (head near left hip, feet and body toward the side and rib cage). mine is typically anterior, though sometimes will go post.

a lot of my friends and clients have babies in the same position around this time, and then it changes as they get closer to birth. sometimes, the baby will move into the pelvic floor, and then out again towards the left hip.

in all cases of my friends and clients having babies in the same position, all babies have engaged normally and were birthed vaginally. the posterior babies either moved to anterior just before or during labor or were born posterior (harder birth, though).

so i wouldn't worry about it, but keep doing good things for yourself to encourage good positioning!

My guy was OT for the longest time. I just waited until he was particularly active then did pelvic tilts on hands-and-knees. I never noticed if/when he went anterior, but I did have a very smooth and easy labor and delivery, so I think he slipped into good presentation either before or during labor.

thanks for the answers! i try to do the pelvic tilts and inversion when babe is active, but my babe is ornery and always quits moving until after i'm finished.
