Fighting jaundice

We arrived home from the hospital sunday evening after Leo being under the lights for two whole days. On monday we had to go back for a follow up billirubin test and got a call in the late afternoon that it had gone back up! So we had to back again today for yet another test (poor Leo is turning into a pin cushion) and if the levels aren't improved, he will have to be readmitted I don't know what else to do besides feed, feed, feed. I also took him out in the sun for five minutes today (after the blood test when the sun finally came out). Anything else I can do?

I don't know of anything else you can do, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're dealing with all this, mama! I hope everything gets better and you don't have to go back to the hospital.

you can put vit e on your nipples when she is nurses. that helps. also you need way more than 5 minutes outside. early morning and evening are good because it is not too bright but you are still getting lots of light exposure. take the baby's shirt off so the liver area on chest is exposed.
Just being outside in indirect daylight also helps.
I have had 2 very yellow babies in the past and these two things resolved the issue in a matter of days.
