I swear this TTC thing is making me feel really dumb.

This is my first cycle TTC and my first cycle tracking fertility signs. I'm really only going by CM and cycle days for now.

I have kept track of my cycle for over three years. On average, my cycle is 33 days. So my forecasted day of ovulation is CD 19, with my fertile period being CD 16-18. I am on CD 16 now. However, today my CM is creamy and has been for a couple of days. So, FF indicates that I am probably not fertile; you're only fertile if EWCM is present. I know that some people only get a day or two of EWCM, especially if they are past their 20's as I am. So maybe it's on the way. Also, my cycles can occassionally run two days longer or shorter on either side. I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out the whole timing thing.

DH and I, in general and regardless of babymaking, DTD every other day. But I want to make sure we're doing the right every other day. We can step it up to every day during this period, but I worry that it'll feel forced to one or both of us. Every other day comes very naturally to us. I don't want to have obligatory sex, ya know? But I really, really want to conceive! (don't we all?) Anyway, any thoughts for this brand new TTCer?

cauc- my dh is out of town too! he will be gone until july 30, though. and then he leaves again aug 6. it sucks!! (we work too much.)

My DH started a new job and he came home and said that he may have to go out of town sometimes. I looked at him like he was the devil. Fortunately his work is pretty flexible and it hasn't been a problem.

Shonahsmom, I agree with 2in09 that you're probably fine sticking with your normal habits and doing it every other day. Don't worry, tracking fertility signs gets easier as you get used to it. Have you thought about temping in addition to the other stuff you're tracking? I for one find it really reassuring to get that thermal shift just so I KNOW that I ovulated. Also, if you do that and enter your data into Fertility Friend it would give us all the chance to chart stalk you.

2in09, that 5 days before O resulted in a son. I read somewhere that boy sperm can survive longer in you than girl chromosone sperm. I don't know if that is scientifically based but recall reading it. I still think no matter what it's a 50/50 chance! Hang in there.

Shonahsmom, I think everyother day bd'ing is fantastic. No need to step it up especially if you think it might cause stress, imo.

kriket, I have shortish cycles with early O (average cycle is 27-28 days with O day on cd 12 or 13) so I will probably test on August 1st. That will be 10dpo for me.

I feel kinda weird posting here because we weren't really trying. In fact, dh is not too pleased we are in this situation We got carried away on vacation, lost all track of dates and days and so... : here I am. I wish I could trade my fertile self with any of you right now so badly to help you out. All three of my pregnancies resulted in one try the first month. I'm like a crazy fertility goddess or something.

Kayda's Mom, Thanks, I don't know what's wrong with me, I've been so abnoxiously weepy the past two days. Today I had a hysterical sobbing fit because my toddlers wouldn't take a nap and they pulled the clothes out of the top drawer in their room, LOL...then I watched Logan's Run (super cheesy movie from the 70s, not sad AT ALL) and I just sat there sobbing.

Then I called my husband and told him he had to come home or we'd never have another baby until I was dead and it would be all his fault! Hormones are fun aren't they?

2in09, I'm so glad to see you back here, and it's good to know you're in good spirits.

So.... I am CD11. Yesterday I was joking around how we should name our kid Marmaduke, and my boyfriend decided he loves the name Duke. (I don't...). So after we had sex last night, he's laying there going, "swim, Duke, swim!" hahahahaha. Had to share because I thought that was funny.

So anyway, get ready for a little TMI... afterwards, he goes to clean up and is like, "You're bleeding." WTF???? I WAS! enough that it was all over him and when I wiped it looked like AF. And when I peed later there were a couple of clumps... mixed with semen kind of. But that's it. No more blood came out of me when I peed a few hours later or this morning at all. But I was like, "I don't know why I'm bleeding" and BF was like "You need to get a cycle, man!" hahahahahahaha. Like he knows what it's all about. He is cute.

But anyway, I think maybe he went in too far? I know in the past I have bled a couple of times after some "rougher" sex. Or could it be O spotting? Or my cycle really is just f'ed up? God! Just when I thought I had it all figured out and we are really trying hard this month...disappointing.

Butterflykisses--sometimes I bleed lightly after sex if DH bumps my cervix too hard--I've never had an clotting, though. Sometimes semen is stringy-ish...do you think you mistook blood-tinged semen for clumps?

I have my weird sex question to ask too!

Ladies: have you ever had a "tight" feeling down there, in the general region of your uterus/bladder? I really have no way to tell which one it is. Last night, before sex and for a few hours after, it just felt really tight, almost strained or something. I thought perhaps it was ovulation pain/something related to ovulations (got a + OPK yesterday), but I'm not sure. It has gone away this morning.

Maybe we've just been having too much sex--five days in a row and counting! I really want to keep doing it every day up until Sunday.

Hopefully our respective organs can handle two more times!

I am evil........ I made my husband drive home from where he was working 3 hours away to BD, even though he had to leave again at 4am to get back in time. He said that was the only time he was doing it so hopefully that one time was enough, today's OPK is negative after yesterday's positive and temp was up .4 degrees from yesterday.

Who knows, according to FF I ovulated on CD8, and I've had three different sets of positive OPKs, the last two I checked against other brands to be sure.

2in 9-I glad your back. I was worried about you when we did not hear from you.
Jaci- Did you have any side effects from femera? I havent gotten any side effects. I did read sometimes the side effects start after the last pill and some sites said the side effects might not start until the second month. I started the opk today but it was negative.

Can anyone help me with opks. First, when is the best time to test? I know not to use FMU even though I did last month and tested positive for three days. Also, should I not drink water at all for a certain number of hours. Last month I got very positive with FMU and second morning urine. However, with the smu I did not drink more than a few sips of water and again very positive opk. Should I test in the afternoon and not drink anything for 4 hour? Did anyone else ever get positives with fmu? The funny thing is the test did go negative on fmu on the 4th day of testing. Anyone an opk expert? I am currently using the first response but I had good luck on answer. So I may use the answer as a back up test.

Also, I am on clomid. Will clomid throw off my ovulation if I ovulate regularly? I am taking it for low progesterone and normally ovulate on CD 10-11. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Pepper: LAME!! I have really long cycles, I Oed on CD25 and last cycle had a 16 day LP. ptth...

I guess that just means that you have to be the first of us three to get your BFP!

yes bad side effects on Femera migranes. The clomid just made my ovaries hurt really bad. The OPK's were postive for me on the clomid it did not effect the results for me. I started testing today got a line but not too dark this morning me and dh bd last night just for the fun of it. I know TMI, info I would never tell anyone else. Kelly keep me updated I want to know how you are doing.

Sorry, I needed a couple of days to deal with everything.

So, the results of my blood test Monday were inconclusive (which means the hcg is so low they don't know). So I went back Wednesday and did another draw. The results of that test were positive, but my hcg was only 22, which is extremely low. I pretty much knew a m/c was inevidable. This morning, I miscarried. The funny thing is, since I have been told this would probably happen for the last four days, I actually feel okay about it. I am simply letting it go and looking forward to next month.

I will now O around the 9th-12th I think, so DH and I will only be able to do it around the 5th and 6th b/c he will be leaving again for Denver after that, so perhaps some of the little guys will hang out for a while. Hey, it's worth a shot.

So glad you're back and so positive. And yes - we'll stick it out with you of course!!! I think I'm going to O later myself, which would probably put my test date in mid-late Aug, but I'm not going anywhere either!

I'm trying to convince myself not to test at 10dpo and wait until 11dpo. I hate driving myself crazy seeing invisible lines, holding it up to the window, and basically driving myself crazy with uncertainty. It would be much easier to know for sure either way...

I had that feeling last month. I chalked it up to O. I never felt it before, but I never really paid attn to this stuff before either - I was very out of tune w/ my body. Also, last mo would have been my 1st mo O'ing in almost 3 years, so maybe that also had something to do with it?

Oh boy! I'm obviously the wrong girl to ask since I've been testing w/ FMU. Maybe we need someone to give us a lesson in OPKs!!

Well ladies, not much going on here. Noticing some CM changes, but that's about it. I thought I might O on Tuesday, but now looking at the calendar and the moon, will probably be closer to Friday. At this point I'll just wait and see though. Wish me luck in noticing all the signs and catching that eggie!!!
