Posterior babies? - Page 2

My baby was posterior most of the end of pregnancy. I'm not sure when she turned...we weren't really sure about the position at my final appointment, and I don't think my midwife even checked when I was in labor. DD came out face down, though, so she turned at some point. I did have some back labor and it was LONG but not bad at all--magnificent, actually!

Definitely check out the website spinningbabies.com that someone else mentioned, and see a chiro. You can also try talking to your baby and telling him to turn! I did that every day, touching my stomach and telling DD, "Your head should be here, your back here, your bum here..." If nothing else it's fun...and it helps you connect with your baby, for sure.

And as a previous poster said, water is great...don't know if waterbirth is an option for you, but submerging in water during back labor...ah, awesome.

(This is OT but I'm cracking up now realizing that what I did during pregnancy to tell her to turn is so similar to what we do now to teach body parts..."Here's your head, your back, your belly, your bum...!" )

my baby was born posterior. I had a short 3-4 hour active labor. I pushed for 20 minutes. He came out face up with his hand on his head. in a hot tub with no tears

My midwife said I'm a birthing machine, I say I didn't know any different.

Good luck!!!

My son was in a great position my whole pregnancy till the minute I went into labor. I felt him turn posterior and then I went to bed to get some rest. It slipped my mind when I was in laborland and then when I consented to AROM I sealed my fate. He was also asynclitic and I just didn't dilate past 6 for 30 hrs.

Hindsight is 20/20. Trust your instincts and get on all 4's!

I had a posterior baby but ended up with a c section after trying with all my might to have him naturally. All I can say is make sure your water isn't broken before the baby turns. I think my midwife should not have broken my water and that affected things.
