magic treehouse has a cute little mushroom knitter. Plus a little book with bag, and yarn.

same with my 3yo. He make lots of knots but is very happy with them.

It's funny cause when I saw the title of this post, can a 3yo knit, I thought you meant a 3 yarn over. I was wondering how tht would be possible ;-)

My 2.5 year old likes to sit with needles and yarn and says he is knitting : I'll cast some stiches on for him so they are attached and he likes clicking the needles together.

I say give it a try. Maybe she'll just play but who knows!

I do the same with Knittermom: My DD sits on my lap, since I can't help her in mirror image. I started very young, on my own by watching my aunt. I remember she, my mom and grand ma helping me to learn, correcting or fetching the lost eyes. I started with my DD to increase the fine mortor cordination.

by the way, my DD just turned 4 when I stared.
