I am having issues with a linty buildup on some of my clothes when I line dry.
I am very happy that my home came with a 4-line clothesline setup, complete with a trellis and roses on one end.
: The line is mostly under a tree so I don't have to worry about fading. I don't mind the stiffness after line-drying at all. I'd love to be able to exclusively line dry.
However, there is this icky lint-ish smeariness that keeps appearing, particularly noticeable on dark clothes. We also have dogs, so there is some hairiness that I'm not used to..and some grass bits stuck onto DP's socks after mowing the lawn. The dryer used to take care of these things for me. I do a few firm shakes on each article before hanging, but I can't think what else to do.
I'm considering using the dryer once every few washes to take care of these problems, but if there was a better option that would be great.
While I'm on this topic, my line also leaves rust on some things. Short of replacing the line, is there anything I can do to clean it? I've wiped it down with a wet rag several times..
