difference in leg openings on soakers??

Is there any difference (besides the way it looks) on soaker knitting patterns that the leg openings are more to the front, or more to the sides? For example the LTK hybrids and the curlypurly's leg openings are in different places.

Thanks in advance, I am scared to make too many of one kind that leaks or something.

I know this is the exact answer you DON'T want, but I think more of it depends on your baby/diaper combo. I liked the more front-loading legs for poofy diapers on my average-sized thigh baby. They definitely caught more poo. The Curly Purly ended up being the perfect soaker for us for look and function. But a friend of mine used only the LTK original soaker (with side-loading legs placed similarly to the Ribby Hybrid) and Kissaluvs on her slender son without a problem.

I agree w/ pp. I've used the regular soaker and the hybrid from LTK and I liked the hybrid much better. Now I just use shorties or longies though. I figure I'm putting time and yarn into it - it's going to be seen!
