I got smiled at today!

Phoenix shot me a smile! We're pretty sure it wasn't gas, but

O, and the sounds too. Mine doesn't cry so much as coo's imaptiently. Like a little owl. I love that. Today, tho, I got the biggest, wide-opened mouth, gummy grin yet.

I've been getting a lot of cooing and surprisingly they have smiled at each other a few times which is absolutely adorable.. But no gummy grins for me

It really is pretty special, isn't it? Daniel had some amazing newborn smiles in his first week, and now that he's nearing 6 weeks old, he's initiating the smiles himself rather than just echoing yours.

As you can see from the time of this post, we're up... It's been a brutal few days. Just so gassy and colicky.

Anyway, he just choked horribly on my milk, sputtered and coughed and cried and got mad, and then looked up at me with his googly eyes and smiled a perfect, "I love you" smile. So damn endearing.

Aw, DD has given lots of smiles since birth, but none of them were directed at me. More just smiling in general. She hasn't smiled in response to my smile yet.

DS was developmentally delayed and I remember going in for his two month check up and he hadn't smiled yet. I just hope that she is by then or I will stress out about the same delays!
