I'm 30 weeks and have been seeing the chiro for about 15 weeks. Initially he said we'd start with two visits a week for a few weeks and then go to just once. But we're still doing two a week. I'm not going for any pain or problems, just optimal positioning. Our money is tight though, especially since we're paying out of pocket for this birth. What is the normal schedule for seeing a chiropractor in pregnancy? Would it hurt me at all to switch to once a week for the rest of the pregnancy?

I usually just go once a month, and only go more often if I am having a lot of pain. Then I think the last 2 months of pg I was going probably about twice a month, and once when I was in labor.

if you arent having any pains and your adjustment are "sticking" i dont see why you need to go 2x a week. i started 2x a week b/c i was in pain, but after a few weeks i started going 1x a week. my chiro. just told me i could come in 2 weeks from my last appt. b/c im not having any pains and im doing great (im 29.5 weeks BTW).
i would ask him why he wants you to come 2x a week. Just b/c you are pregnant is not really a reason. I love my chiro. but they are not all ethical i think...he may just want you in there for $$...it wouldnt be the first time.

I've been going to a chiropractor for over a year now before I became pregnant. In the practice where I'm a client, it is normal to start off with more adjustments while your body learns to hold the adjustment (I go to Network Chiropractors). So far this pregnancy I have had no pain at all, but I also attribute that to being further along in my wellness treatment at the office. If things are getting too expensive for you, just tell your chiro and if he's any type of a decent guy he'll let you know the minimum you can come to receive positive benefits.
I generally see my chiropractor once a week and more often when I catch a cold (just recently) or flu or something. When I started going last year, I was going like 4 days a week for a month, and then switched to twice a week. Then we moved and started going to our former chiro's sister's practice in Maine and we went twice a week for a couple of months before being switched to once a week.

Hmm... I went 3x a week when I first started going to the chiro, a few years ago. Eventually I was going about once a month - probably could have gone every 3 weeks before I moved to once a month, but that's the way the money went. Early pregnancy, I was going once a month. Now I'm going every two weeks, and I figure I'll go to once a week around 30-32 weeks.

I started going at about 24 weeks pg, and went once a week for three weeks, then switched to every other week once my back was in better shape. I've found that every two weeks works fine for me, but I do typically start to feel some discomfort at the end of the two weeks, so I wouldn't want to go longer than that. I also get an insurance-billed massage at my chiro's office on the weeks I don't see the chiro, so that may also make a difference.

I go twice a week but I pay a yearly flat fee so I can go as much as I want. I find twice a week for me works perfectly but I see him for non-pregnancy issues as well.

when i am not pregnant, i go once a month, but pregnant, once a week.
if you feel uncomfortable with going that often, cut down the number of visits.
anything higher than 0 should help!
most likely every week at first and if you are still doing well you can move it to every two weeks and see how you do.
