It is a very good thing you did not get magnesium sulfate; it slows down/stops contractions. Magnesium sulfate and pitocin basically cancel each other out - that is what happened when I was unsuccessfully induced with my first child.

I know that you know there ARE reasons for medical intervention--sounds like yours was for all the right reasons and you were able to make it the best birth for both of you.

I'm really glad too. I wondered about that because isn't magnesium sulfate what they use to stop preterm labor?

Yes, I am so glad that I didn't get induced earlier, I can really be at peace with the induction since there was an actual medical reason.
