Is plastic #5 sippy cup safe?

My 2 yr old love plastic sippy cups. She won't drink from Klean kanteen.
I think she loves straws.
It is plastic 5. Is it unsafe to use?
Is there an alternative that my daughter would love instead of plastic ones?

If she loves straw, she might like the Foogo sippy cup (one model is a reg. sippy, and the other has a pop up straw). It's stainless steel and works really well. Easy to clean, too.

"5" is one of the safer plastics.

#5 and PP are BPA free

Mine is not actually sippy. It's a spill-proof plastic cup with a straw that comes in different color from London drugs if you know what I mean.

If it's labeled as a number 5 plastic, then it's polypropylene and is BPA-free.
