Does anyone know of any songs that are about breastfeeding?

I wish I did! DH and I just make up nursing songs for dd as we go along. Sometimes my 13 year old does also, lol.

Lady Madonna by the Beatles says, "...baby at your breast, wonders how you manage to feed the rest."

Love it!! I googled this topic and found a suggestion to replace "danced" with "nursed" in I could have danced all night - from My Fair Lady.:

I hear a song on NPR once, a while back, kind of a joke song. I tried to google it but couldn't find it. It was about why babes prefer mom. Something like, "Cause she's got, mammary glands oh she's got, mammary glands..."

The Welsh lullaby Suo Gan mentions "mother's breast" in most of the verses of the English translation.

Not a song, but the poem Trees by Joyce Kilmer has the line:

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast

There's a Christmas song written by David Haas, a Catholic composer, entitled Birthsong, that mentions breastfeeding in two of its four verses. The second and third verses are:

The eyes that gaze at Mary have yet to name or trace
A world of shape and color, or recognize a face.
Yet holiness eternal is perfectly expressed
In hands that clutch unthinking, and lips that tug the breast.

The milk of life is flowing, as Mary guides and feeds
Her wordless Word, embodied in infant joys and needs.
Enormous formless strivings, and yearnings deep and wide
Are cradled in communion and fed and satisfied.

I get goosebumps just typing it!

And apparently has asked his father to stop singing the song. But I saw Loudon in a smallish club a few years ago and he can be cajoled into singing it but says, "Don't tell Rufus" to the audience.

It is my favorite breastfeeding song and my boys love it.

I had no idea that Rufus was gay!! LOL!!! Funny stuff! I think it is a sweet song cause you know his dad was just teasing his mom when she was nursing him one night. LOL!

I saw an episode of Two and Half Men recently where Charlie Sheen sang a song that went somethign like this
"I drink from a sippy cup, a sippy cup, a sippy cup, I drink from a sippy cup cause I'm a big kid now;
Bye Bye boobies, bye bye boobies, bye bye boobies, cause I'm a big kid now"

Not exactly what you are looking for, but man I almost peed myself laughing at that, especially on just regular tv!!!!

Since I started watching late-night reruns of "Two & a Half Men" a year or so ago, I've noticed many breastfeeding references -- all positive. The show seems to go out of its way to normalize breastfeeding, and never ever mentions bottles or formula. Who knows who's behind that...but if it's Charlie, I now love him. (He used to annoy me, but no more.)

It's very cute - the chorus seems to be:

oh mama please give me ni-ni, please give me ni-ni tonight

and the words:

your ni-nis are the best
the milk is always fresh
there's an unlimited supply in there
your ni-nis are so big and round
the best all over town
please give me ni-ni tonight

(uh, yeah, I do have a life, really!)

Yes!!

There are two CDs called "Only My Mama" and "One More Person To Love" from the Lester family.

They are realllly good, and one even has a cute BFing 'commercial' because (I think) the dad writes jingles for a living. Very sweet and AP.

I bought them from a unscooling site a few years back, and think LLL used to carry them too.

We sing their song "I want to nurse about it" all the time:

Then I'll go out to play,
'Cause when I nurse about it
My owie goes away.
