If you do DVDs...

At what age did you start and why? I think we are mostly OK w/ DD having some limited screen time at some point in the future, but I have no idea when. She seems way too young now, but will there just be a time that feels right? That seems weird to me considering we are so accustomed to not watching TV. So did you carefully plan when you would permit TV time? Just try it on a whim one day? I'm just wondering.

We started getting DVDs from the library, one per child per week. I let DD2 pick one, but she never actually watches it ! Just a matter of wanting to do what big bro and sis are doing. Anyway, we started with DVDs around age 4ish, maybe a few months before. No real forethought as to age, just DS mentioned that he wanted to get a Thomas DVD once, since he loved to play with his wood trains, so I figured, why not!

We just do DVD's. It limits what they watch and they get bored with watching after a couple minutes.

We started at about age 2.5 ODD had a Nemo addiction . I limited her watching mostly but on a bad day ( like if I was sick) I didn't...I just would have it on as long as she was watching...
