last minute gift ideas for 5yo

I have waited till the last minute here to get a gift for a friends dd. She is turning five, and her party is tommorrow, but it takes an hour to drive there, and the party starts at 10am. Nothing around here is open till ten am except the big stores like walmart, target, etc. I am not a big fan of buying anything at those stores, let alone presents. However, I think their family will be upset if we give her a drawing or something. Maybe I could make her something? I have wool felting supplies, but what if her mom is upset about a handmade gift?

Hmmm....if I had to do Target, I'd do art supplies or a game. Also, they sometimes have those Chicken Socks craft books in the toy aisle that has the wood kitchens and the more "natural" toys.

You can find something that will be okay!

I love gift cards. Even for 5 year olds. They get so excited when they can go pick out a new book or a small toy on their own.
