A super-soaker in the making?

So all of the breastfeeding books, pamphlets, etc., all say that the best way to keep track of whether the baby is getting enough milk is by counting diapers, and that during the first week of life, the number of diapers should roughly equal the number of days - 1 diaper on day one, 2 on day two, and so on, until there are a minimum of eight diapers per day by the second week of life. Since it actually worked out that way when my son was a newborn, it never occurred to me that my daughter might be radically different. But on day number four, she went through 10 diapers, and has gone through 12, so far, on day five! We did the first load of diaper laundry when my son was 9 days old but we already had to do a load for her on her fifth day! I can't figure out if my daughter is going to be some kind of super-soaker, or is making up for lost time by skipping ahead a few days, since she was in there so long, . I am planning to start some EC as soon as I am not so achy and sore, so that will hopefully help with the diaper situation, otherwise may be I'll need a fourth set of a dozen prefolds, .

My first girl was going through up to 20 diapers a day by week 2 She ate plenty I guess

I feel the same way about my LO. He is 8 days today and since day 3 has been going through too many to count. I'm a paranoid mama about him getting enough, but I guess he is considering all the dipes we go thru a day!

I'm just glad we're using cloth, even if we end up doing laundry every day for the next few weeks. This would be very costly in disposables. :
