Decluttering and holiday gifts

Just something to keep in mind as you're decluttering this summer...

Keep an eye out for anything you might be able to give as a gift for the upcoming winter holidays. Best things for this are books in impeccable condition, but extra copies of family photos, CDs, etc., are also options. Depends on your family - Aunt Bee might love to get that book of yours she keeps drooling over, but in another family that would be a no-no.

A friend is getting married this fall. I'm packing up my books to move soon and decided to give her a wonderful housekeeping/organizing book for her wedding shower gift. I've read it several times, but I keep most of my books in "like new" condition. That definitely helps if I decide to sell some!

Outgrown kids toys/books still in good shape are also a possibility as gifts.

Since the economy is a concern for most of us, this is a good way to help the holiday gift budget, as well as with the decluttering.

Thats a great idea!! I have a Japan tourist book I was going to get rid of but my SIL wants to take a trip over here, I can give it to her. Its in perfect condition and I know she would enjoy it.
