I cleaned my carpet today with my handy new steam vac. It came with some soap and I wanted to give it a try. It smelled awful and I'll probably not continue using it, but I wanted to let you know that there may be chemicals in the carpet before I go on with my problem.
The reason I was so keen on cleaning it is that some of the high traffic areas are kind of matted and almost crusty. This really grosses me out, so I wanted to get rid of it. A good amount of dirt came out of the carpets, but they still feel hard. What can I do about this? Anything?
