Constant Complainer

Need some suggestions. 7 year DD has become a constant complainer about everything. Anyone else have a child who is going, has gone through this?

Part of me says this is just the age, another part of me says it's a cry for attention. She was an only child at our house until 6 months ago when our baby was born. Her dad (my ex) decided to join the national guard last year and now has gone the past two summers.

Suggestions on how to work through this stage would be helpful. Thanks!

OMG, my 7 yo DD is the same way. She is also my oldest. I think it is her personality. She just seems to need more attention and reassurance than most. It is *really* trying, though. My DH is also away a lot (2-3 weeks out of each month), so I know how that goes.

No real advice. Just in the same boat! :
