39 weeks for me today! I am feeling in a much better mood, ready for a nice relaxing day with family. We are going to grill out at my mom's house for her birthday, then come home and watch a baseball game.

Last night when I got up to go the the bathroom eacht ime I had the most terrible sharp pain in my lower groin...almost like ligament pains, but worse. I think this baby is just getting bigger and stretching me out to the limits. Tomorrow I go in for my 39 week appt and I also have an ultrasound this week to re-check for size etc...I think we'll also be doing the NST and Biophysical profile too to make sure she is healthy and my blood is clotting correctly.

Chances are I will also set an induction date so we can get this baby out and I can get back on blood thinners...I'm so torn about that now!

MHaddon

This might sound wierd but have you sniffed the tp after trickling. If it smells sweet and kind of wintergreeny that is amiotic fluid. If it smelss like pee, well, that is self explanatory. I hope for your sake it is your water trickling.

mhaddon, sorry about your dog. That is sad. :-(

I'm 40w6d today. I just spent 3.5 hours walking around the clam festival in the next town, hopefully all that walking might do something (probably not). Last night I woke up at 4am with horrible menstrual cramps, I mean the kind that I would take 3 advil and a heating pad to if it was PMS back in the day. I couldn't get back to sleep for hours. Ugh... What is going with the menstrual cramps? Not to be anatomy challenged, but what causes that? The uterus? It wasn't contractions, just ouch cramps.

I have to go put my feet up, they are insanely swollen, it's like I have 2 baby walrus's hanging off the bottom of my legs....

Ok clams sound yummy! I walked forever and just end up w/ cramps too so I'd love to know the answer to this. Seems like we are both stuck at the same place :

It stopped so I'm chalking it up to pee I guess. I dunno I swear I have no clue what is going on w/ my body and it is driving me bonkers!! I actually didn't want to sniff the TP so I put on a cloth pad, it seems more plesant to sniff the velour

38w6d here, just chugging along. Finally got the family room birth-ready and found my baby clothes and NB/small diapers, still need to get a few more things ready. Now I just wish the rest of the house was clean so I could kick back and relax!

Finnegansmom, not to stir up undue excitement, but those cramps sound very promising to me! (from what little bit I know yet!) We didn't make it to the clam festival this year, but now I am wishing we had. Clams sound delicious right now!!!

the cramping is likely your uterus (or uteri since more than one person asked? LOL) and certainly a part of pre-labor for some (and post-labor for me, ugh! those after pains!)

the leak could have been a small leak in the waters. from what i understand there are two layers and especially if it breaks high up, it can just be a slow trickle that re-seals if it was just the outer layer. OR it could be what i've been experiencing lately and that is just the right pressure on my bladder so no matter how many times i pee, he lays on it just right that just a bit more pee comes out, especially when i stand up...sigh...lovely, thanks buddy.

I just wanted to drop in and offer lots of : to you mamas still waiting to meet your LOs! I feel like the rest of us have sort of dropped off the planet and are now enjoying our babymoons... but we're still thinking of you and loving reading about your progress!

Soon we'll all be commiserating over explosive poops and 4am feedings!

Well I think I'm going to try to get some rest. I just finished cleaning up the house once more. We went to the fair again and I started having contractions while walking around and figured they'd fizzle out once we got in the car, but they didn't. Went to Walmart for some last min. things and they got closer Now they aren't as close since I've been home, but still having them so I'm going to go to bed until they wake me up. I just hope I can have her before I'm supposed to go in Tues afternoon.

Oh, DH is in bed b/c he was irritating me. He told me as soon as they were 3 min. apart for an hour we were going to the hospital (hour away) I guess he's afraid I'd deliver in the vehicle Is that good enough to get their and no be forced into a c/s or should I wait a bit longer??
