.......................and we thought you were going to be a girl....so we had our girl names all lined up........then we found out you were another boy.......and now it's back to the old drawing board...
I hate getting others other than my husband and I involved in name picking; people (strangers) used to get on my nerves so bad when I was pregnant with boy #1 with turning up their noses when we so graciously told them the names we had picked out, and family turning up their noses; and other family members trying to force other names on us (hello! When you get morning sickness from carrying my child, then you can have a say in the name!!!)--
-- so we have a family tradition of keeping the name secret until the kid gets here...
But both my husband are walking around with lost looks on our face whenever we bring up the subject of names between the two of us, so I think it's time to ask for a little bit of help.
My husband has a tradition in his family that involves 1 first name and 2 middle names
Also we started the tradition between us of using biblical names
My son's name is Gabriel Elijah Caleb ~
We had the girls name picked out as Genesis Liel Sadie ~
We both came up with those names early and agreed on them easily.
But now, we are lost, cause we're not having a girl, we're having another boy.
...now what?
Husband likes "Hezekiah". I don't. I'm not fond of "H" names. He also likes Azriel.
I don't know what I like. I don't know if I like any other biblical names. I've always liked Joshua and Shiloh and Noah. Husband doesn't like Joshua (it's WAY overused around here) He says where he grew up he knew about 7 different "Noah"'s. And he hates Shiloh.
Briefly considered Nehemiah...both threw it out. Malachi? Nah. Nothing catches us and holds us like Gabriel and Genesis did. At least nothing biblical....
Personally? I notice a tendency in myself to gravitate towards name that end in -el and I also tend to like names that have a "br" in them.
We're hanging in the air on "Israel"...I considered it for boy #1; I really liked it...it's not really singing to me for some reason like it did in the beginning.
I tend to find myself thinking about the names "Monteray" and "Dominique" a lot...neither of which are biblical names...and I'm not sure if I care if they are anymore.
Help me before I
:!
Edit: We've also been throwing "Mordecai" around....
Oh and ps......I'm also beginning towards wondering if I give a crap what my husband wants to name the kid anymore, seeing as how his ankles aren't swollen, and his bladder isn't compressed, and all...
I don't want to feel that way though because a)We're usually so name-compatible and b) I told him the first one would be mainly my choice (on the first name), and the next one he could have a more say first name choice......
but neither of us are very satisfied with what we're coming up with so far...
