We are thinking Silas for this one if it's a boy. I love all the biblical names. My baby brothers are Steven, David, Jonathan, and Elijah.

My husband LOVED the name Jericho for this baby if it was a boy, I wasn't all that keen on it but my reasoning was silly (it reminded me of something creepy we'd seen on tv before).

He kept harping on it over and over, wanting that name. BUT, we're having a girl so it kinda didn't matter anymore.

Now after months of having settled on my girl's name, I look at the name Jericho a little different and think that it would have been a great boy's name.

Jeremiah doesn't really fit your themes but I thought I'd through it out there since it is a Biblical name (Old Testament).

Good luck!

I have an Elias and a Josiah. We're having a girl (name will be Selah), but if she shocks us by really being a boy we will go with Silas.

Here were other names on our list:

Israel (loved it)
Jude
Matthias
Malachi
Japheth (that one was pretty much all DH)
Jedidiah (another DH fave but I didn't like the idea of him being called "Jed")

Eliakim is interesting...
(I have an ex named Joel....I keep in touch with him on myspace..his head would be blown up enormously and he'd get all the wrong ideas if I named my kid Joel...he's a nut like that.)

I don't know how to pronounce "Micaiah"?

Jonah I'm not sure about..

This is what we have so far....
First name category
Abram
Raphael
Israel
Edit: Genesis (Dang it all, I'm putting it up here on the <gasp> first name category for a <double gasp!> boy much to his chagrin!!!! )

Middle names category
Jericho (Just got booted to middle name status by the name-constipator.)
Solomon
(I just threw Samson at my husband just now, he said "It doesn't taste right." : See what I have to put up with?)
Tobias
Ezra
Hezekiah (meh. I can deal with it as a middle, not a first...)
Gilead
Gideon
Noah
Zion
Galilee
Eliakim

I put a bunch of middle names because it's more to choose from (since it needs to be two middle names) and more options to get it to flow right...

Well it would be "helping" just in kind of an icky sense.

Plus it is the cat in Smurfs.

I noticed on the G biblical names page they have Gomorrah listed... that doesn't exactly have the best connotation either!

I know a little boy named Nahum (it's a biblical name). Pronounced Nay-um. The name means comfort or consolation.

Of coarse I like the name Israel as my oldest son's name is Israel! But ours isn't so much biblical as we liked the name and as you can see in my signature we have the whole contry thing going now(didn't start that way, long story). My baby due in March will be Italy Diane or Scotland Heath!

I totaly get the strange looks. And people even saying "oh i hope its a girl cause I don't like the boy name" or "I hope it's a girl cause I don't like the boy name" It's not there choice they named there children so just keep your mouth shut!

had a neighbor name Nicodemus. (spelled right?) that is kinda a neat name.
They pronounced it with a bit more of a soft O sound.

If you like Joshua and Noah but find them too common, how about Joah or Joash?

Good luck!
