If dd showed allergy to dairy when bf...

My dd showed an allergy to dairy when I drank it while bf (gassy, no "sick" poops), so I'm hesitant to introduce any dairy to her now. She's only 10 months, so I'm definitely holding off on milk, but am curious about cheese/yogurt. Any experiences out there that you can share?

Thanks!

I don't think you're supposed to intro any dairy before 1 year anyway. But if she showed sensitivity through you, I would probably hold off a lot longer than that.

It's actually OK to introduce yogurt at 9mo if the baby has no signs of dairy intolerance.

I'd hold off in this case though. She may outgrow the dairy sensitivity if she's not exposed to it for a while.

Some Dairy

I know that milk is off limits until 1 year, but yogurt and cheese are a little different. http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/tipYogurt.htm offers an interesting explanation. I've been holding off on all dairy since I don't know if dd had/has a lactose intolerance or is allergic to the protein.

It sounds like some babies grow out of it?

Some babies grow out of it if they are given time to heal. Considering she was sensitive enough to it to react through bm, I wouldn't introduce until after 1 yo for sure, probably more like 18 months.
