Symptoms during IVF TWW

OK...so I just have to obsess a little. So, for anyone that's been there or is going through it now... what are your symptoms during the tww? I just had the ET on Saturday and then on Sunday most of the day, and still some today, I had some cramping similar to PMS. I've also found myself to be extremely moody and ready to cry at anything. Is this a side effect of the PIO, or just the stress of the situation? Also, does anyone know why they don't recommend DTD after ET until the beta? Now that most of the stress and work is behind us, my dh and I are starting to feel a bit frisky but don't want to ruin our chances. TMI! Anyone know if the worry is about the orgasm or about the insertion?

Julia,

The worry is the penetration. They told me that orgasm was fine. But no sex until there was a good solid heart beat. The moodiness could be from the hcg trigger??? Good luck

For me the Dr told me no insertion OR orgasm. I also did not do the PIO I instead did the vaginal suppositories, but since they are both progesterone, I'm sure the effects are similar. I really didnt have any cramping or anything but I was pretty hormonal/emotional. Good Luck!

Aly- I wonder why they all say something different?!? I was going to stay away from both activities just to be on the safe side. At least until we see the little one or ones. How are you feeling?

With both my IVF cycles, I did pio. I was so crampy. Exactly 7 days after my ET. (12 days after retrieval) I had brown inplantation spotting. the endo said no sex because of the risk of infection and also the embryo cannot inplant if your uterus is having to much "movement". After the beta though sex can resume. Good luck to you!

Our clinic says no intercourse OR orgasm. They also say not to do anything that you would feel guilty about later in the event you don't get pg (ie. maybe if I hadn't gone for a long bike ride I would have got a BFP, that sort of thing). Makes me wonder if sex is in that category, like if you do, you might feel guilty about it later. Too bad because all this estrogen in my system is quite, um, stimulating for me....

Yeah, I found the fine print from my RE and it said no sex or orgasm until an ultrasound confirms regular development. My dh and I talked about it and agreed that it just isn't worth it, due to the guilt thing. Speaking of bike ride, we did go on a long one the day before ER and it freaked me out because once we reached our deistination, but before we returned, my dh mentioned how hard on his parts it was. I was soooo worried we had just botched everything that I made him hang loose until ER in hopes of reversing any damage. : Luckily, it wasn't an issue. Still, not something I'd recommend since I was quite sore in that area (first long ride of the year) and then added the discomfort from the ER.

I am going to question my RE again. They told me orgasm was fine. Now I am doubting them..
