Pimples from milk allergy?

My son is 3, and for a few months now he's been getting pimples all over his body, that come and go. They look painful, and have a white head for a few days, than disappear.

I asked his ped at 2 separate times (2 different doctors) what this could be, and they said it might be a possible nickle allergy (because he used to get them where the button on his jeans is) but since then it has been on his trunk, and now arms, back etc. He usually has about 5 at a time.

I'm guessing it must be a food allergy. I changed all laundry detergents, and other possible allergy-causing variables. My next guess is milk. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll cut out dairy for a month to see. We don't have insurance now due to dh changing jobs, so I can't go to the allergist quite yet..........

I get bumps like this on the backs of my arms. Since I have eliminated dairy, there has been improvement, not completely gone, but improvement. I used to have problems with jeans buttons and belt bucles too, though I dont know that it is related. I would try eliminating dairy, but keep a close eye out, dairy sneaks into a lot of stuff.

See, I told you I was hanging out in allergy land!

Ug, when I have regular pasturized milk my face and back break out in HORRIBLE cystic acne, it hurts big time.

When I can keep on track and not have milk my skin clears up.

Today I tried raw milk for the first time and so far so good, no reactions- I also get horrible tummy problems and haven't had any yet:

My ODS has a really bumpy face - bumps all over it. Not exactly like pimples b/c they don't have white heads ever and they don't seem to come and go but just stay most of the time. Lotion makes them smaller but doesn't take them away. The pediatrician told us it was genetic and no big deal, but I've been wondering if its a reaction to something.

Now my food sensitive DD is starting to get the same bumps on her face, arms, and legs.

Do you think this is a food reaction? Maybe I should trial my 5 yr old on dairy free for a month and see what happens???

Ah Matey there you are!

Should I just have him tested for food allergies instead of eliminating all sorts of things first?

My son is almost three, and he gets these sometimes, too. I *think* it happens when he has more refined grains (he's gluten-free and we don't do a LOT of grains usually, but when we get gluten-free rolls he tends to "break out").

I had acne off and on since I was ten, and I found out that sugar and grains really contribute to this.
